Terribly rude staff - they don’t want photos taken in the store, that’s fine, but when I took out my phone to look up a watch that was unacceptable to them? Silly business, can’t help feeling like they didn’t even want me in the store.

I dropped off my ring for repair, and they ended up breaking my blue sapphire stone. I paid them $80 for repairing my ring. I spent 800$ on this stone. They never apologized for their mistake and simply said, 'You can do whatever you want.' I don't recommend them!

ZERO STARS! terrible experience. rude and racist owners. very dismissive too! I came in to see a few items and measure my ring size. the owner said it costs $45 to measure my ring size. I said that's impossible and asked him to explain the cost. He then started yelling and swore at me after I visibly got upset. DO NOT COME HERE!

I needed baptism jewelry. I wasn't disappointed coming here. They have a great jewelry selection to choose from. Prices are reasonable. Father and son run this location. They were both very helpful and knowledgeable about clocks. I highly recommend them.

The most perfect place to get it all done! Beautiful collection of jewelry and honestly the best repair place for all your favourite pieces. Got my necklace repaired and my two heirloom pendants restored for such a reasonable price! Thank you so much!!

I will not come here ever again. The first time I came was okay - they took a couple of links off a watch for me to size it and the woman there charged me $20, which I just paid but the next time I was in I noticed a sign saying that link removal is $10. The second time I came in to ask for a new earring stopper on the back of my gold earrings. Since I was there anyway asked if they could sell me a tiny toggle clasp for my daughter's necklace - literally the tiniest of pieces and he charged me $7 - no repair as I attached it on my self and didn't need his help - and when I asked why it was so expensive the man told me it was because it was silver - it wasn't - it was stainless steel and the kind that you buy in bulk. I was going to order them on amazon but then thought I don't need 50 pieces so I'll get them from this store since I was there anyway. Anyway, I just paid it but was annoyed that he tried to act like it was silver. He told me I would have to return to pick up the earring because his dad would need to work on it and then without any provocation starting ranting on about how horrible it is to work so closely with his parents on a daily level - it was very odd. I had to extricate myself. Anyway, when I returned to pick up the earring they hadn't replaced the tiny little rubber stopper, which is all I wanted. they asked me for $17 and I asked what it was for since they hadn't repaired it and the same man (the younger one) started going on about how expensive gold is these days. I reminded him that I had only asked to purchase a tiny rubber stopper for the back and that I had brought in the gold earrings. Then he insisted that they had replaced the hooks with real gold and started telling me the price of gold. I told him the hooks were the original ones and so he called back to his elderly dad in the back and the dad told him that actually no the hooks were NOT replaced and were indeed the original ones. I asked what exactly I was paying for since they hadn't even changed the stopper and he said it was because they had straightened out the back of the earring for me (they hadn't) and kept going on about the cost of gold even though I reminded him a couple of times that no gold was provided by them but I still paid the fee. I went home and couldn't get the stopper off - he had changed the angle of the hook and it was stuck so I went back to the store right away and this time the older mother was there. I showed her that the stopper was stuck and they hadn't really done anything at all. The mom started telling me that she had to charge me that much because she sits there all day and needs to charge something. Ummm, really - it was so outrageous. I should't have paid and will never ever return here. I don't write reviews that often but this store must be the worst scam ever - I wonder if they are money launderers because there is never anyone in there and the kind of chotchke being sold in the displace cases looks like it's from the 1960s (e.g. ornate tacky platters that say "Happy 50th anniversary"). I am only writing this review to warn others to stay away - I did not find them honest or competent. Go some place else for your repairs.

If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would. NEVER GIVE THIS BUSINESS YOUR MONEY! THEY ARE ABUSIVE AND ABYSMAL! RUN AWAY FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT! I asked if they could engrave a small pocket-sized Zippo lighter with the initials of my brother-in-law. I shopped around for awhile. I also spent $45 on it. An older lady greeted me at the counter and when I began explaining what I wanted, she asked me to write what I wanted on a little piece of paper. I wrote "BPM" in all capitals and specified that I wanted the letters to be cursive, I wanted ONLY the letters, and all in capitals. She told me, "Write what you want exactly on the paper." I did not stop explaining what I wanted, because I did not want to lose out on the money I had already paid for the lighter. I was clear that I still wanted to see the font or have them send me a photo before they engrave. The lady was speaking back and forth with what appeared to be her son, the jeweller, through the Plexiglass to the back room. Her son did not greet me or make eye contact. She was the communication liaison between us. I continued explaining. The placement wasn't important to me, but the font and how I wanted the letters was. I also made a big deal about seeing the font/letter templates before I agreed to pay. She brought out the font template. I must have been annoying with just how specific I was, because the son from the back said, "I heard you, you're good to go." to me as I was speaking twice. I thought that was pretty rude, but I had seen the font templates and he said he heard what I wanted. When I returned to the shop to pay a couple of days later, periods were included on the lighter in between the letters and it read: "B.P.M.". This time, it was what appeared to be the son's father. When I said I wasn't happy with the product, he said, very shortly and rudely that he couldn't do anything for me and I needed to speak to his son. I asked him when his son would be in, he said he didn't know. I gave the lighter back and said I would phone. I phoned after the weekend. I got the mother on the phone. I explained my situation and she began yelling and blaming the entire altercation on me, refusing to listen to my explanation and hanging up on me. Before being hung up on, I asked to speak to her son. She yelled for him and I heard him say in the background, with attitude, "Tell her, I'm not here. I'm in my office!" I told her if her son wasn't going to speak to me over the phone, I would be sending my partner to pick up the lighter. When my partner frequented the business with several people inside it and asked to speak to her son about the situation and for the lighter, the son would not come out, the woman began yelling profanities at my partner, telling him to "Get the f*** out of my business!" until he left. She also threw the lighter at him. I have NEVER been treated like this by a business establishment in my life and I am truly disgusted.

To be honest, I don't purchase gold and jewelry often but I was looking to purchase a gold chain for my nephew's baptism recently. I was referred to Aguiar by a friend of mine who lives in the neighborhood and highly recommended them. When I first went in to the store, I wasn't even sure exactly what I was looking for, I spoke with a gentleman (I think his name was Ed). He walked me through the whole process, what popular products they carried and spent time to find me something that looked great and accommodated my budget. It seemed like a family operated business which I also liked ( I say this because there was a more senior lady in the store, who I believed was Ed's mother). Anyways, I like that about the vibe, and I prefer to shop local/small business. It was a low pressure sale, my family was complimenting my purchase and I had a good overall experience. I highly recommend this place!
