Love this store; it’s one of my fave spots in Kensington Market - I’ve shopped here for years, whenever I’m in the city - it’s full of great deals and surprises - I’ve found everything from kitchen things (bowls, dishes, steamer baskets, hanging baskets etc) to beautiful handmade papers, and notebooks, round paper lamp shades - in all colours and sizes … ???…A bit of a treasure trove.

I was looking for a cute bookmark and went into almost all the gift shops around this one and the others either didn’t have it or they were 8 dollars for one bookmark???!? But here… everything is reasonably priced and the kind man at the counter is very nice and helpful. If you want to spend your money I think you should do so in this Gift shop instead of the others :) just saying

I visited on Jan 10 2023 at 14:52:20 pm. This place sells most stuff for $1.99 ($2.00) and $1.50; however, there are some items that sells for $1.00 and less. I purchased stuff for $1.99, $1.50, 0.79 and $1.00 BUT when I went to the guy at the cashier. He parcelled out all my products then multiply the # of times by $1.50 or $1.99. He did not take into account the items that I bought for $1.00 and less so he charged me for them at $1.99. Is he lazy? or is he cunning? I don't know but I discovered what he did after I was on a bus getting out of Toronto. It is disheartening when you feel conned. I phoned him about it and he said to bring back the stuff to sort out but as I mentioned I was already on my way out of the city. BUYERS, BE ALERT AT THE CASHIER!

Owner is always kind and helpful. Wide assortment of household items for a great price. If I can’t find it at dollarama near me, I come here! They also have nicer gift wrapping materials and craft supplies. Love this place!

I love B & J's. Such a great selection of many things. Paper, scarves, crystals, glasses, mason jars etc, etc, etc.In particular, I adore the man who owns the store. He is often fixing something and he is kind and friendly.Over the years, I have bought lots of popular gifts for family & friends. They even have the paper or presentation boxes to wrap it! Fabulous place!I must find out his name?

Such a great place for all kinds of home and craft goods. Sweet, kind owners who really care about getting the best prices for the neatest products. A Chinatown gem.

Great and friendly service and a surprisingly large selection of various household goods. The shop owner is really helpful and doesn't try to push a sale - I've gone by a couple of times looking for an item that he talked me out of purchasing (suggested that I could make do with what I already had), which I really appreciated. Another time I went looking for an extra long shoehorn for my older parents (who couldn't find any at their local shops) and they had more than one for me to choose from, at a very decent price. They won't always have what you're looking for but it's always worth a stop by!

I have loved B&J Trading for years and years! I first found them as a child and have gone back all the time. When I lived in Toronto it was one of my favourite places in Chinatown to visit. My place has many paper lanterns from them. I also love the glass fish on fishing line that float they sell. Love to see they’ve survived COVID. And I look forward to visiting in a couple weeks when I’m back in Toronto
