Went by today the line for check out was long due to local school, students. I put back the items that I wanted to purchase and tried to leave when I encountered a rude staff member. Middle aged philpino woman. Really do you really think that I would need to shoplift? I am comfortable making a 6 figure income. Shame I will not return to this Dollerama.

Well, it finally happened to me today. After living in Canada all 41 years of my life, served for my country for 8 years, started a non profit, and worked with Liberal Government for the past decade helping immigrants with resources while living in Canada.
Today, I was falsely accused of stealing at my local Dollarama inside Dufferin Mall. I opted to use the self scanner and scanned 3 items and placed all 3 items in my bag that I was using to purchase items at other stores in the mall. When it came time to using the debit machine, the cashier (who most likely is someone I helped come to Canada from India) demanded I empty my bag or come with her to see if my items were scanned. I politely refused and said that all items were scanned; as she did not believe me she had forcefully took my bag and started going thru my purchases I had made in previous stores with her dirty, crusty hands - this is where I noticed she was making a scene - so I thought I’d enlighten the little girl and cause a scene right back. I told her to please take her hands off my bag, where I showed her the items that I scanned and paid for - and then said I could go. Girl, you were not going to keep me there, as I was already on my way out.
I will be back to this location, and most likely get her name so I can blast on her on all socials lol

There should always be an option to check out with a cashier, especially when the self checkout is so glitchy and requires you to stand there and wait 3x because the items are so light that the scale doesn’t register them and puts an error up. The woman working was very kind and obviously just doing her job - I’m sure she would have checked me out if she was allowed. And I wouldn’t have a problem with the self checkout if it didn’t suck and take twice as long.
Just pay one (1) employee to give people the option to check out with a human?

Very large Dollarama with LOTS of everything! Too bad that it really isn't a dollar store anymore. Staff are helpful. Only draw back for some customers is that it's on the lower level with stairs to access the store. Has unfortunately become a haven for teenagers from the local high school to "gang" enter and steal from the store which frightens staff and customers. Unfortunately, limiting the types of masks being worn in the store or adding security might be the only resolution to this situation. Dufferin Mall does have issues during the school year with theft from the neighbourhood highschool kids.

The Dollarama at Dufferin Mall wasn't very clean, and the shelves were messy. Despite friendly staff and affordable items, it could be more organized for a better shopping experience.

You can find here different products in a really low cost, of course quality of the products it's related to the price.A place that sells a wide variety of items at very low prices, the items have a quality commensurate with their price.
