Stumbled on this hidden gem biking by. The staff were so helpful and friendly. I bought some farro (delicious grain that doesn’t spike your blood sugar levels) in bulk which is hard to find at a reasonable price. Wish more people knew about and supported this co-op!

I love this co-op. It’s so fun to check out all the eco friendly cleaning products and other products they have. I really like that the food is organic and sold in bulk and you can bring your own containers. It was a walkable distance for me so that was great, and there’s also a bit of parking. I’m not actually in the co-op because I don’t live nearby anymore so I pay the extra cost for non-members, but the cost is marginal and still worth it.

We stumbled upon this store. It’s fun to look around inside a store. I liked this cute colorful graffiti art as well. Most of the items were sold by weight, and there were many items on sale that seemed to be good for the body and the environment. It's fun just to look at it, so please give it a try.

Karma is a unique place. It is a small for sure that sells mostly organic (I mean 90%+) and mostly locally sourced from Ontario farmers. It is a true co-op where everyone is an owner. Good for many items but might be difficult to get every grocery item you need. Unique products and organic products at reasonable prices. If you aren't a member you can get a trial membership free for a month to check it out.

We love Karma Co-op. We actually bought a house in the neighbourhood almost thirty years ago so that we could shop at Karma... and have been ever since. It's always my first stop when I go out to buy groceries. The produce is fresh and much of it local and seasonal. The bulk is unbeatable; we get all our staples here. There's also a good selection of dairy, eggs and vegan products, as well as a variety of frozen foods. And fresh-baked bread from Lev and pastries from Mabel's. The co-op stocks meat and fish, but I can't give an opinion about them as we're vegetarian and vegan. But Karma is not just a food store. You'll find a great variety of cleaning and body care product, as well as other useful sundries like reusable water bottles and food containers, and the best socks ever made (they come with a lifetime warranty!)A couple of things visitors sometimes miss are the bulk nut butters, the bulk spices (so convenient!) and the bulk tea and herbal tea areas. If you can't find them, just ask any of the friendly staff or a member. They are always happy to help. The store has a warm, friendly, welcoming atmosphere, so come by and check it out sometime. Well worth repeated visits and highly recommended!

I first learned of Karma Food Co-operative from a Jane's Walk event that I attended. Karma Co-op is a member-owned, democratic grocery store that offers ethically sourced, fairly priced, and locally growned food while reducing waste and supporting local growers and businesses. It's located in the Seaton Village neighbourhood of Bloor St. West (on a quiet residential street), which is walking distance from Bathurst subway station on the Bloor line. From Karma Food Co-op's website: "In 1972, a group of Torontonians founded a food store for a community of actively participating members who felt a connection to the food they ate and the people who grew it. Together, they would be able to exercise political and economic control over their food and help to build a more win-win food system."Upon entry, there is a members' room on one side, and a display of ready-to-eat baked goods and samosa for sale. The grocery store offers various fresh produce and products (many are eco-friendly, organic, locally sourced or grown, and/or carry the fair trade certification label). Grocery selection includes produce, bread, grains, bulk nuts and spices, everyday household and cleaning items - all the daily essentials. There is a large chalkboard listing the current and upcoming events such as participation in Jane's Walk and Doors Open, plant sale, plant swap, and more. Sometimes they hold workshops as well (most are geared towards environmentally friendly and healthy living), e.g. DIY Fair Trade Body Scrubs Workshop, DIY Natural & Effective Bug Spray Workshop, Vegetarian Onigiri Workshop, etc. The full list of events and workshops can be found on their website. As this is a members-owned grocery store, there is a strong community neighbourhood feel upon entering. All the staff are very friendly. There is also a small community kitchen at the back.

I love the convenience of this one-stop friendly grocery coop tucked away in Karma Lane. Product selection is guided by our Product Policy, and the quality of the food is excellent (no GMO's) with a focus on local, organic, and sustainable options.I enjoy the 400+ bulk items from oils and vinegars, dry goods, frozen berries, maple syrup, eggs, and body care and cleaning products. I recommend bringing your own containers when you come to sample a few of the bulk items. Karma's membership structure was recently simplified in 2023, and newcomers can trial shop for one month to see if they would like to join. There are lots of skilling-sharing member-led workshops and activities hosted at Karma at cost. And partnerships with fellow coop, Urbane Cyclist and nearby kitchen supplier and food programmer Nella Cucina, mean members get discounts at these businesses.I encourage you to come by.Andrea

I won't shop at this store. The clerk called me racist online because I did not want basketball courts going up in Vermont Park. I want the Bocce ball courts to stay. Who employs that kind of man?

Seems like a lovely store, enough choice of organic foods and other commodities. If you're not a member however they spring a 15% surcharge on you at the counter. A little rude if you ask me. I understand the premise of a co-op food store, but perhaps they should instead raise the price of everything and offer members a discount so its not seen as a 'non-member tax'.
