dirty, no respect for customers, lying work schedule, the store closes at 9 p.m. and not at 10 p.m. I don't understand why they lie to customers

The best place for grocery shopping in downtown Toronto

Location and groceries fine, but the blonde old racist woman at the self-checkout today was so very rude because I was Asian. She just smiled and talked very attentively and friendly with a white person, but ignored me on purpose when I was calling her. And finally when she was assisting me with sth., she still had the nasty attitude and kept being unresponsive and cold. There were very few customers in the early morning, so she had no excuse to talk to me like that.

The employees are always helpful but the cops that stand at the entrance are not nice. I wonder why they need them?
"Glad you got all your shopping done -- at 10:15" is what this cop said taunting me when leaving the store. Loblaws, please check your security. You hire bullies.

Don't come here if you're in any type of time constraint. Today I witnessed two cashiers give a customer the finger when he turned around because he had the audacity to say he was in a rush. They gossipped and swore about this customer, even though I stood in a long line beside them while my cashier moved at the same glacial pace and it's not the first time. Myself and other customers have switched lanes because of this trend, which consistently happens here. I would normally just be annoyed but the swearing and unprofessionalism was appalling today

Customer service is quite bad. Become cocky when asking for bathroom access

Loblaws store is a historic building located on the corner of Church and Carlton Street in Toronto. Looks clean and stocked. The price on the groceries way too high

Very pleasant supermarket, offering a wide choice of good products in a large space. Shopping here is very pleasant even if some cashiers are extremely unpleasant

Having two cashiers working between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. on a weekday is a wild choice and absolutely insulting to your customers. I waited 40 minutes in line to cash out today. Not only that, when they did decide to open additional registers they opened the registers all on one end. So a ton of people that had not been waiting at all got run through before a bunch of people that have been standing politely waiting forever.. You guys really need to work on your customer service cuz that experience was atrocious

I do my shopping every day in this store and I must say that shopping there is very pleasant: good products, when they are not out of stock, tidy, fairly clean.
However, the end of this shopping is made very unpleasant because of certain cashiers and in particular the one who is of average height, hair tied in a ponytail, overweight, with a vacant and black look, drooping eyelids and a strong smell which suggests neglected hygiene. So, not only is it unpleasant, but it doesn't help the outcome: her attitude is very inappropriate, and what's more, she takes the customer for an imbecile. No sign of politeness, she looks at you badly, gives you orders through gestures, without a smile.
She was at the self-service checkout this Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 4:08 p.m.

Excellent supermarket, lots of choice, cleanliness and then the convenience of being able to eat there for both lunch and dinner at reasonable costs.

October 2024: craving chips I bought a "large" bag of PC Kettle chips. It was a long way down before I reached the small amount. Picture below.
August 2022: Excellent Kalamata olives by Mezzetta. Also their inhouse pizza for 9 dollars is pretty darn good.
February 2022: More rotten fruit being sold at exorbitant prices. Plums, picture below.
January 2022: Not specific to Loblaws but looking for a snack I found this package of Michelina's pizza snacks funny. The pic shows more like strawberry fruit filling than pepperoni in tomato sauce. (Pic below)
November 2021: Organic Meadow milk. Absolutely delicious. The chocolate milk especially will bring you back to the days when Mom used to make your hot chocolate from scratch using Fry's cocoa...if you were lucky enough.
June 2021: Medjool date rolls. To be avoided as they are one year out of date. Staff advised.
April 2021: Tamago or tamagoyaki is available at the sushi bar. Nice little treat of slightly sweet rolled egg omelette.
2021. Five dollars for a latte and remove the foam, this is what you get, about a third of a cup of coffee...sad. But it's to be expected from Starbucks now that it has replaced the perfectly acceptable in house coffee counter.
The lasagna from the Grill is, on the other hand, a filling meal but at 8 plus dollars (pay by weight) should include a side...even a single piece of garlic bread would be nice.
UPDATE February 2019: I really need to stop buying my fruits here. I should know better...from previous experiences...and it's not like they just opened. The latest is 7 dollar pomegranates from the States. Rotten to the core.
October 2018: Did a bit of shopping today (Oct/04th.) Packed my folding Loblaw's carry box with canned goods on the bottom. Went to a cashier and she repacked with cans on top crushing everything below. Someone needs a refresher...especially when you do it for a living. Picture below.
August 2018: Absolute must try is corn on the cob. Fresh, flavourful and shockingly well priced. Truly impressed.
July 2018: Pictured is a planter selling for 50 dollars. On Amazon.ca for 65. Not only a better deal at Loblaw's but this planter comes with an adjustable shelf and is suitable for self watering. You need only drill a small hole 12 inches from the base. The beautiful plant was about 15 dollars.
Jan/10/18. Bad timing for those in need of Distilled water. Going on four days without the shelves being restocked. Thank goodness for two neighbourhood Metros for those with humidifiers or medical equipment. And they have it on sale.
NOTE: Loblaw's should stop posting their own massive amount of pics (60 at count) on a site meant for customers to rate them and post their own pictures.
AUG/2017: Often find items that are missing pricing or are simply wrongly labelled. Such as this 12 dollar Filet Of Sole in the 9 dollar Haddock bin (picture below.) Little things that will take a hit in the pocket book when it comes time to pay if you're not paying attention.
Super Staff and good choice of products although I'll pass on the thawed seafood/pastries and forever rising prices ie Tassimo coffee.
Always a good steak at the Grill counter.
Breakfast for roughly $7.50 with choice of white/brown toast and eggs three ways.
Security should keep a closer eye on street people begging inside the main doors and helping themselves to food and a table at the coffee bar all without paying. No wonder I'm paying more and more.
And they do run out of stock on various items far too often.
Low carb bread anyone? Not here I'm afraid. Few to none low carb choices. Fruit and veggies often bland &

This store is OK to shop at. I decided to give this store a try. There was 2 people at the cashier before closing the store. Then it lead to 1 person at the cashier on a Friday. The store is understaffed. The store is becoming like Shoppers Drug Mart. Then another person came to open the cashier saying that she would take Debit or Credit. What about the other people wants to pay cash. That part is a little disappointing. This store is another No Frills.
