My dog and I love going to this pet store, the staff are great, always helpful and friendly and they never get tired of my very large sheepdog Stevie asking for cookies. If we don't go in at least once a day, it's not a good day for Stevie!

Now adding I visited a small Pet Valu store in North York today...... very accommodating and pleasant . Offered to order, without complications what I need for my tiny dog. Location is no where close to my neighborhood but good service counts!-------------------------------------Too late!_____________________________Customers Beware!!!!++++NOT FIRST NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE IN THIS STORE!! I CALLED THIS STORE SEVERAL DAYS AGO LOOKING FOR A SPECIFIC BRAND OF Winter Dog Socks Advertised On Their Website, WHICH TRACY SAID THEY HAD. SHE ALSO Advised ME ABOUT MANY OTHER DOG WINTER BOOTS/STYLES THEY WOULD HAVE AS OF THIS WKND....That WAS NOT The Case! THEY HAD BALLOON SOCKS And A FABRIC SOCK..Not a Great Selection As She Promoted!TRACY SENT A NEW EMPLOYEE TO "SERVE ME" Who Was Not At All Familiar With Their Products And Trying To Find A Product They Did Not Have In Stock After All. . After Some Time Dealing With The New Employee, When Eventually Speaking To Tracy she Actually Denied telling me on the phone that they had the item I wanted.This person cannot be trusted and she is Not pleasant!Will also add this staff believe that corn in dog food is good!This store is Not customer service oriented! In previous visits I have heard disgruntled customers say they will never return! It is understandable.

The staff used to be really wonderful. The woman I spoke to today was rude and condescending. I left and went to another pet store.

Best experience ever hands down! Incredibly helpful staff, almost alarmingly so but we'll leave that for now. ? Yoohoo Quintin! Anyways getting back to the service and boy did i ever get a service a right seeing to if you will, i was able to get my hands on some really smooth skinned turttles with very very silky and smooth skin that turned out to be fantastic for my soups. The turttles that have the leathery skin just dont work as well. The other thing Quintin reccomended was that if you boil the tuttles alive instead of smashing them over the head first you get a bit of a different taste ? something about the toxins. Well Quintin you rascal you made a fan out of me! Not only was it tasty i can still hear the lovely song the little guy was singing to me as he boiled away in there well ta for now ill be sure to keep you updated on my progress

This place has won my repeat business. Staff are helpful and friendly, and never had an issue including the one time I needed to return a product. But what clinches it is Sheila the groomer. Sheila does an amazing job with my admittedly difficult to groom dog, and the prices are completely reasonable.

I had a really disturbing store visit. I came in to exchange 2 of 12 cans of pet food I bought a week before; for the same product, but a different flavour. Instead of exchanging the item as has been done before, the associate told me the amount was $xx higher.She wasn't able to explain the difference and was saying it was just about losing the discount. The amount was 3x higher than the 5% quantity discount per can when I bought 12. I paid the amount and left the store. I was polite but frustrated by the transaction.I came back to ask for a copy of my receipt and as I was walking in I overheard her talking about the interaction to another associate; "...and then he said..." When she saw me, I heard her say "oh, he's back now". She was saying this with other customers nearby in the store.Turns out, after I looked at both receipts outside of the store, that the price of the product went up by $0.60 from last week.It's unfortunate that neither of us looked at the receipts and was able to explain it. It would have been a lot more sense if the store associate had told me there was a price increase. Even so, a straight exchange would have been the preferred outcome.Hearing her speak about me in front of other customers added a whole other level of unprofessionalism to her customer service, and makes my store experience very disturbing. It's too bad, I had previously enjoyed visiting this store often and always felt welcome.

Not good. The staff here have their customers needs at the bottom of their priorities. They are more concerned with their personal conversations. Every other Pet Valu I have been to a staff member will be walking around the store checking on customers to see if they need assistance. Not here, all the staff were congregating behind the desk. Upon checking out it was clear that I was more of a nuisance then anything. There was one staff member in particular who was very rude and sarcastic. She had black hair and was wearing a black fleece sweater with stars on it. She would be the main reason I will not be returning to this location. And I will be sharing my experience with other pet owners.

Friendly, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable staff, always helpful with advice and recommendations. Nadine and Stephanie are amazing and the reason the store is our first go to option for our pet needs. On the flip side, some other employees can improve on people skills and personal hygiene. Having said that - no complains about their professionalism and knowledge of store products.

So I called earlier to ask if they would be open by the time I got off work, the lady on the phone said they would be open until 6, I arrived at 5 and the lazy staff decided to took matters to their own hands and closed before time, when I did signals to the white girl with hair until her shoulder ignored me and laughed… I don't know which kind of power she thinks she hold but they should hire nicer staff. This is not the first time I received attitude from staff from this specific location, they get away with older people in the area who don't care to write reviews, one of the worst customer service experiences ever is at this location, too sad that over the months is always the SAME HORRIBLE RUDE STAFF ALL YEAR LONG.

They have two cats for adoption ( bonded cats ) for almost two months now .When I asked the staff to give me some info about them, one of the men that speaks very loud seems totally bothered.Also I asked them at what time during the day they let the cats out of their cage ? The same man told me that they don’t let them out.It’s two months now that they have those two beautiful cats in that cage and they don’t let them out ?!? One of the cats looks so depressed.It’s really heartbreaking ?Where’s your compassion @petvaluUPDATE?YES THEY DID FIND AN INCREDIBLE HOME .. because I reposted them on my page and people saw my post and came to your store to adopt them.I’m beyond happy that they have a new amazing life coming ♥️Concerning your staff the two people I talked with couldn’t care less about them.When I asked questions few weeks ago , the man was so bothered and couldn’t even find the adoption papers ….You had them for almost two months in that cage without letting them out ?!!Most of the Pet Valu have a little area where they let them out and stretch.It took me one social media post that you could have easily done to get them adoptedMany comments on your page about your staff being rude …

One of the guy cashiers was rude. Especially to a nice old lady who just commented about how cute the cat that was there. Didn't pack my items properly and had an attitude like he just over it.

The staff at pet valu especially nadine she is so helpful and sweet. She always brings a smile and makes her customers happy. She even has knowledge on my sugar gliders which many people don't know about. Very knowledgeable about the products in store. Really proud to say i leave the store happy. Keep up the good work :)

Unbelievably rude staff at the 1560 Yonge location. I asked for help for a certain type of dog food, and she said can you not read? I was so shocked I walked out of the store. Never to return. Which is unfortunate as I live in the neighbourhood. I know these stores are franchised and I encourage the owner to look in to this as this is bad for business to say the very least. Terrible experience.
