My go to shop for all my Dog's needs from food to bathing to equipment, all at reasonable prices. Knowledgeable and friendly staff that genuinely love and welcome all pet types. Great online pick up service as well.

The person working was quite standoffish and seemed bothered when I asked for what I wanted. I was simply told “no” and then stared at blankly for a few seconds when I asked if they carried something specific. No offer to bring product in, no suggesting similar products that my pet might enjoy… no explanation as to why they don’t carry it or apology that they were out of stock. Customer service needs to be better

I have been going to this store for 12 years. I have two cats and a dog and I spend about $400/month there on food, litter, treats, etc. Tonight, I arrived at 8:15PM with my dog to use the dog washing station. (They close at 9PM.) When I got there, there were no customers, but a broom stood propped against the counter and a roll of paper towels was in the middle of the floor. When I got to the dog washing station, the two employees were cleaning that, and told me I couldn't use it. They said it always closes 40 minutes before the store. I pointed out that it doesn't say that it closes early anywhere on their website, where it advertises the dog washing station. They reiterated that's what they do. I asked if they could make an exception for me, they said no. This was absurd. It would have taken me 15 minutes to wash my dog. I would have been done by 8:30PM. It was incredibly poor customer service and Pet Valu has just lost a customer. I will not give my money to a store that doesn't value my business and that clearly lets the staff treat customers rudely and prioritizes letting staff clean up early over convenience for their customers and delivering on their advertised services. It's really disgusting to spend as much money as a have at a store to then be treated this way. I will also be sharing my experience with my fellow dog owners at the local dog park and urging them not to use this store anymore.

It’s a downtown pet store…expensive…especially toys (and they never seem to last) even the “tough” ones. I friend help is a bit spotty but proffered quickly. Parking is prohibitive but relatively easy walk for Annex area. Wide selection like most PVs.
