Great food. Staff at the butcher counter are helpful, but the girls at checkout are miserable.
P.S. I've read other reviews and employee reviews. Garner what you like from them. Seems like it comes from management.

We come here to get things besides beef: buns, cheeses, sauces, seasonings, bacon, etc. Among the deli meats, we love their homemade roasted turkey breast. Shopping here is a bit of a luxury for our household but their prices are competitive when compared to other stores that sell foods of a similar level of quality. When we do shop here, we appreciate the reliable product selection and consistent quality.

Royal beef is more than a neighbourhood butcher. They have have so many wonderful products. Here are some highlights of my favourite things... The tri-tip sirloin roast, the tzatziki, the fresh pizza dough, the wine salami, the burgers, the spices olives. You should go, and start your own favourites list... trust me.

Oh my, I was in there today and was chatting with the incredible staff. Very helpful in talking through options. I made the flat iron steak tonight, and I believe it was the best steak I've had in my life. Not exaggerating here, I think this is my new favourite cut. Thank you Royal staff!

Small store filled with lots of goodies. We bought frozen burgers and buns. They have everything you would need for burgers or even a complete meal. I will definitely return to try out other cuts of meat and their deli section.

I moved out of East York in 2019 and continue to drive back to the city every four months to restock our meat and poultry from Royal Beef!!

So glad to have royal beef right down the street from us. We dont eat a lot of meat, so when we do it needs to be of great quality and royal beef has yet to disappoint.

I called Royal Beef and asked if they had top blade roast. They said they did. I asked them to put my name on it. I was down there 20 minutes later and they pulled out a shoulder roast with my name on it. Bait and switch. I resent being manipulated this way. They have lost my business due to this unscrupulous practice. This is the second time this happened to me at Royal Beef.My response: If anyone needs cuts explained it is you. I asked for and was told bottom blade would be held for me. When I got there, the package handed to me was clearly labelled Chuck, not blade. I said Chuck is kind of generic name for a large section of the carcass. This does not look like blade roast. You admitted it was shoulder. I believe you told me you had Blade Roast to get me to the store and then sold me shoulder roast once I was there. This behaviour by retail is termed bait and switch. This has nothing to do with identifying Beef cuts. This is the second time you have baited and switched me and I will not be back in your store.

Delayed review. Terrible customer service. Carmine rarely there and the crew at the check out need a lot of supervision and customer service training. Have been shopping on an off here since the late 1970s even though I moved out of the area but I'm going to retire this off my list.Response to owner: Great fact checking Carmen. Yes I stand corrected at my 1970s typo and for the spelling of your name. And I also know the history since the Dominion days working with Catalenatto. I never had anything remotely contentious with your staff who were at times outright rude, abrupt and hostile. In other words you've shown your true character after all of these years by outright lying about me on interactions I have not had with your staff.

Every Christmas season, I - a clueless pescatarian, come in here to buy meat for my partner's stocking (I call it meat stocking!) and without judgment or hesitation the staff helps me figure out what to fill the stocking with. They also have other delicious things in their store. I'm so happy that they've become part of a family tradition for us. Thanks, Royal Beef!
