I went this Sunday evening at Shoppers Drug Mart near Spadina Subway Station and was very nice experience. Shoppers Drug Mart is my go-to for all things health and beauty. The extensive product range, knowledgeable staff, and convenient location make it a one-stop-shop. From pharmacy services to cosmetics, it excels. The loyalty program adds extra value. 5 stars for reliability and excellence! ??????????

It seems like Shoppers policy that the pharmacy never answers the phone, luckily everyone who needs medication has the time and ability to come in person over every minor issue.Severely understaffed, takes days to get my prescriptions filled.I've been hassled for a receipt by the guard at the front after coming in just for my medication, and I've seen other people get racially profiled.Today they changed the name on my prescriptions without telling me, so I went to the Rexall on College and got my prescriptions transferred there. The people there were very nice, they seemed adequately staffed, and not only do they pick up when you call, they even called ME about a minor issue! Saved me a hassle in the future!I would only recommend this Shoppers if you live super close, aren't on any medication that you need to take with any regularity, and are ok with being treated like a thief.

The owner Kenny Tan (who also receives a six figure government salary from University of Toronto) is clearly a major cheapskate. Very poor staffing levels, rude staff who follow you around the store, bad pharmacy, insane prices and rotten produce. Maybe there wouldn't be a need for loss prevention if they actually had staff working at the front and weren't charging 80% more than Metro across the street. Makes me wonder how high the margins are in this place.

If you're a visible minority, this is a great place to come to get profiled, followed around the store, and harassed by the store's "asset protection" goons. They might even try to physically block you from leaving until you present a receipt, meanwhile nice old white ladies and young professional white men will walk out without any interference. Avoid eye contact and walk around these goons to the exit. I've lived in this neighborhood and been a paying loyal customer here for 10 years but can't visit anymore without being harassed by asset protection every time I visit. Have now moved all my prescriptions elsewhere and will no longer be doing business here. Seems like they're very concerned about protecting every asset except customer loyalty here.

Extremely poor customer service! I bought a NUXE lip balm that was on clearance. I found that it was used when i got home. I tried to return it back at a different branch but they didn't take it and advised me to return it at the same branch. However, when I went to return it, The beauty boutique manager N.H. refused to return it. They didn't even agree to give me store credit for it.

Horrible service. The pharmacy always seems short staffed and they never answer the phone. Also, for months now this location has only had maybe 3 shopping carts for the whole store. I went there today and they had none. Asked the cashiers what happened and they chuckled and said “people keep taking them” (although it seems they’ve hired a loss prevention officer or something like that so that shouldn’t be an issue anymore) I pointed out they should get more and they shrugged it off, one finally said “we ordered some” but their tone made it seem like they were just saying that to get me to leave them alone. I acknowledged that it’s not the cashiers’ fault there’s no carts but it doesn’t make sense that this store has only had 3 carts for months and now there’s zero. The metro grocery store across the street has plenty of carts, so does shoppers drug mart at DuPont and spadina - so this “everyone keeps stealing our carts” excuse doesn’t make sense. And even if it’s true, the store needs to replace the carts. It’s not fair to customers, especially those with disabilities, back problems, etc.

This pharmacy and a “Pharmacist” Angela refused to prescribe Paxlovid even though I qualify as someone who is immunocompromised and has a comorbidity. She yelled at me that I had the incorrect information and she couldn’t do it without my full medical record /family doctor because it was dangerous. I just hung up and called Telehealth Ontario to get more information. They informed me that Pharmacists are able the prescribe the medication after asking a series of questions and getting my OHIP number. I called another pharmacy and it was so simple, plus no one yelled at me. This Angela pharmacist was completely unprofessional, RUDE, and unwilling to do her job. Appalled that this woman would still have her job after reading other reviews. Doing a complete disservice to the community.

Staff at this pharmacy are the rudest I have ever come across.Checked yesterday online to confirm Covid testing at this store. Yes, said the website. Yes, said the big red sign in front of the pharmacy counter.I have an appointment with a surgeon today. Yesterday I developed a sore throat and want to test before going into the hospital environment.I was told in the coldest manner that, NO, they do not have tests any longer. I was upset and said if I had known I might have made an appointment at a hospital. They put me to a lot of trouble, and they should correct the website and the big red sign right in front of us. I did not raise my voice but I did complain. The staff member rolled her eyes at me! The Pharmacist came over and did the same. No one apologized. They were abrupt and simply dismissed my trouble in the most irresponsible way. No suggestions of where I might get a test were given other than "go to a hospital."I am not sure how to proceed. Should I cancel a most important appointment with my surgeon?! How can I get a test on time? I am in a fix. There is nowhere online I can complain to a manager. All of these people are out of reach and untouchable.Avoid this store.

I waited in line for cashier but cashier was busy so I went over to the self serve. I was the only person in the self serve. There was a undercover security person standing at the end of the self serve area near the exit doors holding a pad to record offences. As I was about to pass by him, he said I need to verify your receipt. I asked him if he was joking, he said no. I asked him if he thought I looked like a thief because I said you seen me go from the cashier line over to the self serve area, and he was close enough to hear the self serve message from the machine say don’t forget your receipt. A customer at the cash said it was ridiculous for him to ask me to prove receipt. I went home and called the front store manager and explained what happened to me, and I asked that the manager call me back with his response to what happened to me. In hindsight I should have asked the front cashier to page the front store manager and let the store manager know what just happened to me.FYI: It is illegal to have someone in the role of security if they are not licensed

Pharmacy refused my minor illness prescription request after the new law passed. They told me I needed to speak to a doctor to get a prescription which is not true. If your pharmacists don’t feel comfortable to follow the new laws, train them or let them go. This is not fair to the public in need of help.

the worker got mad at my friend and i for smelling a product and then she went and told the other workers that we were stealing even though there was no evidence and we didn’t. Accusing children of stealing is outrageous and will not be tolerated. A male worker then proceeded to raise his voice while another went to block the door, knowing they aren’t legally allowed to touch us (because that would be an invalid arrest) even though they can’t arrest us in the first place because neither of these workers were security guards. This was a terrible experience from my local shoppers drug mart and i will not be returning nor will anyone else i know because it’s one thing to accuse someone of stealing if there is evidence but there wasn’t any and we are children. These workers need to learn how to be respectful and not profile children. Not once did we disrespect any of these workers but they still felt the need to treat us in a way that wasn’t right.

I was trying to get my prescription transfered, and Angela the pharmacist was very helpful, even though the location I was transering from would not pick up the phone. It took about an hour but I got my asthma inhalerNormally pharmacies make me spiral and panic, but that didn't happen here even with the extra complications. I don't know why but I didn't.

You're encouraged to call ahead to refill an rx but then you call and no one picks up the phone. I waited a 1/2 hr and hung up. This is by far the worst Shoppers...Their Pharmacy is poorly managed. No one seems to know what the other one is doing. I understand the nature of customer service and how things can get busy but I've had too many bad experiences at this location...too many to mention. It's too bad. We deserve better. To management: Please don't write me back to tell me you're sorry about my experience. Just do something about it. You've had many complaints !!! One star reviews don't lie.

I can also confirm that the pharmacy staff here have become absurdly unhelpful and unprofessional over the past few years. Phoned for information regarding the new "minor illness" prescription service and not only was the attending pharmacist extremely rude, and unwilling to actually do her job; but she also gave out completely incorrect information regarding this service, and brushed me off stating that I needed to see a doctor for a prescription as my condition was ineligible - I informed her my condition was directly referenced on the Ontario Health Website as being covered. I called another pharmacy up the street and had a new appointment set up for a prescription within 10 minutes... I had been a customer of this pharmacy for well over 10 years, but am now switching pharmacies and all of my family's prescriptions to another location. Dealing with these guys just isn't worth the aggravation.
