Theatre Passe Muraille is a small, authentic, and no-fuss theatre in the heart of downtown Toronto. It is a comfortable and relaxed venue with good seating on ascending platforms for easy viewing. The space features good sound quality and great lighting, creating very good lighting deco effects. It is a perfect stage for interaction with the public, ideal for catching a show like fringe festival performances. The theatre includes a little box office and a small bar with drinks and snacks. Staff are great and kind. While the room can be a little bit stuffy, the overall experience is great, with amazing performances and very good acting that feels believable and emotionally powerful. It remains an amazing spot for an authentic theatre experience.
Excellent venue. Comfortable seating. Small and intimate. It is riser seating but you can still get someone tall in front of you and if the play has a lot of action happening way down in front of the stage area some of it gets blocked but that's more of a blocking issue by the plays.
November 2024
The theatre itself is an intimate experience. The acting in “Erased” was phenomenal- not sure the play was as good.

This is a small theatre, where you will feel comfortable and relaxed while you're at any play. For the size and capacity, it is a perfect stage to create an interaction with the public. The sound quality is good.
