The location is convenient and the prices are okay in general but not good for produce and meats. They don't seem to manage perishables well and often there are things gone bad mixed in. It's also absolutely disgusting that they pack together rotting fruits and vegetables and moldy bread and try to sell it to you at an overpriced reduced price and will never sell and be wasted. Sometimes you see bags on top of bags of this so called discounted stuff that looks like bags in a bio trash bin. They should be more proactive and sell at a reduced price when the products are still consumable.

Edit: I emailed Walmart and they've installed an additional bike rack and that situation is way better now. Baskets are difficult to find. Can’t take a cart out to the parking lot. Always a line for the self-checkouts where some are always out of order and you have to do their work yourself. While the ones at the back of the store are pretty much empty/free. Only ever 1-2 cash registers open. Ugh.

Just got out of here. I’ve seen probably one of the worst managed retail story in my live. Staff walking around or gathering in groups at the self check out chatting. As customer service line got longer, there’s no insight/brains/ability to open another taller to move the line. Overall, it seems to have poorly capable staff. Hire better people! Don’t think I’ll ever buy from Walmart again!

Walmart Superstore at Dufferin Mall is an excellent shopping destination. The store offers a wide range of products, from groceries to electronics, all at competitive prices. The staff is friendly and helpful, making your shopping experience enjoyable. The store is well-organized, making it easy to find what you need. It's a convenient one-stop-shop for all your shopping needs, and I highly recommend it!

Has most of the things you need. Automotive section could be better. Ready to eat meals prep could be better. Beer available to buy in store as well. Good alternative to LCBO.

DO NOT BUY MEAT FROM HEREI usually stay away from buying produce and meat products from here for fear of quality. I decided to take a chance yesterday and bought stewing beef. It was supposedly AAA beef but when I opened the package there was a white worm the size of my pinky finger, presumably a tapeworm. I immediately threw everything away and disinfected my kitchen. I’ve tried contacting the store multiple times but no response. DO NOT BUY ANY NON-PREPACKAGED FOOD FROM HERE

If you’re shopping for your home like decor and little stuff, it’s a nice location to shop at. If you’re buying groceries, you’re better off going to no frill’s. Way too many people and sometimes the shelves be empty. Honestly it’s quite stressful to shop for food but I really love the clothes and home section ?

does this place have range? absolutely.does this place have variety? somewhat.does it have what you need though? probably not.they definitely have the staple essentials, but across niche needs, you’ll probably need to settle for an alternative. also, their drugstore section is always about 60% stocked. do with that information what you will, prices are still cheaper than most grocery stores at the heart of DT.(get your niche goods at another grocer (asian grocers etc), come here for the essentials)- broke college kid

Originally consisting of discount stores, many of Walmart Canada's contemporaries and competitors include Giant Tiger, Home Hardware, Canadian Tire, Mark's, Sport Chek, GameStop, Dollarama, Winners, HomeSense, Rossy, Staples Canada, Michaels, Pet Valu, the Great Canadian Dollar Store, Dollar Tree, and Hart Stores. Based on the success of the US format, Walmart Canada has focused on expanding Supercentres from new or converted locations, offering groceries which puts them in the same market as supermarket chains such as Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore, Atlantic Superstore, Your Independent Grocer, No Frills, Metro, Sobeys, Foodland, Thrifty Foods, Safeway, Save-On-Foods, Country Grocer, Fairway Markets, Quality Foods, Co-op and others. Walmart is the second largest retailer in Canada by revenue. As of October 31, 2022, Walmart Canada has 402 stores operating, including 343 supercentres and 59 discount stores in almost every province and territory except for Nunavut.[2][5] Walmart Canada's principal developer and landlord is SmartCentres;[6] other significant landlords include Riocan and First Capital Realty. It is a participant in the voluntary Scanner Price Accuracy Code managed by the Retail Council of Canada.Walmart Canada was established on January 14, 1994 through the acquisition by Walmart of 122 Canadian leases of Woolco, a troubled subsidiary of Woolworth Canada.[8][9][10] The same year, these Woolco stores were renovated and converted into the Walmart banner.[9] Wal-Mart did not acquire 22 other Woolco stores that were either unionized or had downtown locations. Some former Woolco stores were sold and re-opened as Zellers storesAll 16,000 former employees of the Woolco stores that Walmart acquired were retained, retrained, and given a five percent raise. Mario Pilozzi, a senior vice-president at Woolco when the deal was signed, eventually became CEO of Walmart Canada. Pilozzi, who retired in 2008, has proclaimed that he and "his management team took a limping chain and turned it into the Walmart powerhouse that became a game-changer on the Canadian business scene. Retailers changed, Canadian manufacturers faced demands and volumes they had not seen before, real estate transitioned from enclosed malls to big-box plazas".Reflecting on the 1994 deal in 2013, a Walmart Canada spokesman was quoted as saying "Even though Woolco had seen better days and was struggling, there was still an enormous amount of talent in that company. I think that is one of the reasons Walmart has succeeded in Canada, is because we started with a fantastic team that we re-motivated".[13]Since 1994, many of the shopping centres in which Walmart is located have been developed by SmartCentres (originally known as First Pro), a real estate company founded by Mitchell Goldhar.[6] At present, Smartcentres is the landlord for approximately 100 Walmarts in Canada.[14]Beginning in the fall of 2006, Walmart opened new Supercentres in Canadian cities.[15] Walmart Canada also operated Sam's Club stores in Ontario from 2003 to 2009.[16] On February 26, 2009, they announced that it would close all six of its Canadian Sam's Club locations.[17][18][19] This was part of Walmart Canada's decision to shift focus towards Supercenter stores, but some industry observers suggested that the operation was struggling to compete with Costco and the non-membership Real Canadian Superstore (known as Maxi & Cie in Quebec). Sam's Club also rebranded two unopened locations as new Walmart Supercentres. From originally taking over much of the Woolco chain, Walmart Canada has expanded and opened new stores. It grew to 260 stores by 2005, making it Canada's second-largest retail chain.[11]

Was with a small child requiring a urgent bathroom on lower floor. Upon entering was told my a staff member we could not use the bathroom because they were cleaning - somehow all 4+ stalls and the baby changing station at once. I just abandon my shopping cart and used the lovely mall bathroom and made purchases elsewhere. Interestingly, the mall staff where.also cleaning the bathrooms while i was in there without putting the whole area out of service.

Absolute garbage of management team. When you apply for job they ask to you schedule an interview. You book the interview, get the date and time set and 2 days later you get notified you are no longer being considered. Do these guys have no ethics? The HR seriously needs to look him or herself in the mirror and reflect how they ended up get their job in the first place. No professionalism what so ever. I dont expect anything else from a place managed by Indians.

Do you need stuff? This place probably doesn’t have what you are looking for. What you will get though, is sensory overload. Do you need to be knocked down a peg? Cold hard slap back to reality? Patience tested unmercifully? Go to this Walmart. I guarantee if you go there to get any every day item, they will not have it for some unforeseen reason, the escalators will be broken for the 8th time that week, and a small child will be standing in the middle of parking lot blocking cars completely unattended. 5 stars. Great people watching.

Pharmacist and multiple employees did not display any visible name-tags, and Refused to provide any unique identifier, I.E. No Professional Accountability. They were technically incompetent, gave us incorrect information, repeatedly Interrupting when we endeavored to answer their asked question, Yelling when we politely requested them to Cease and Desist from repeatedly Interrupting us. We were threatened when we asked for store supervisor. In spite of being made to wait for over 20 minutes, no supervisor came. The Pharmacy aisles for picking up laxatives and other over- the- counter medications were locked up at least 40 minutes prior to closing time. Employees and Pharmacist had left much before closing time. The employees were unhelpful and rude.A middle-aged, Caucasian-white, female (with short hair, and no visible name- tag, who refused to provide her name or any unique identifier, I.E. No Professional Accountability) claimed to be store manager. She was uncooperative, verbally abusive, made disparaging racist comments, and Refused to provide the contact information for Walmart head office or division manager. She purposefully hit us with a cart, and was smirking at us.Store cashier overcharged us, and gave us incorrect change. The publicly posted "price accuracy guarantee " was not honored. Store cashier had his name- tag reversed, and Refused to provide his name. Furthermore, he incorrectly scanned purchased item twice , when we had only purchased one such item. Inspite of being made to wait for over 15 minutes, no store manager came to refund our incorrectly scanned and overcharged costs.Multiple items were stocked in the incorrect locations, and prices were incorrectly marked. We were overcharged more than shelf price. "Customer service " desk refused to honor publicly posted price- accuracy- guarantee.Security guard (with no clearly displayed name tag, I.E. no Unique Identifier, No professional accountability) falsely accused us of committing theft, unjustly, as Vindictive Reprisal- Evidently acting under instruction of the Caucasian-white supervisor, since we had voiced objection to being incorrectly overcharged.
