I went today Mar 11 to Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital. Nurses are nice and the hospital looks new. I was assessed three days ago at a close walk in clinic and my condition did not improve, therefore I looked for an ER doctor opinion. The doctor looked at the prior prescribed medication saying "interesting choice" which led me to believe that he was in disagreement with what he saw. "I will give you something that should provide relief in 1-2 days. And if not I will give you a reference to a practice downtown, it is a bit of driving but it's good". I got the referral and the prescription. When I reached my pharmacy, the pharmacist showed me the differences in medication - ER doc got the same thing, less dosage (10 mg instead of 20 mg), over the counter medication vs. what I got from walk in clinic which was prescription. I put the 1 and 1 together at that time - it was all about the referral. Don't fix it, send the clients to the practice downtown. I lead a group of IT architects for network, data and cloud practice and I keep simple and humble. If I were to do the same job this doctor did, I would have to look for work the next day. There must be good doctors out there, but obviously today was not my day. Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital, this is shameful !

My mother was taken to emergency on Saturday March 9 ,24 with a possible stroke. The treatment she received from Nurse Natalia and Doctor Alexander was second to none. Nurse Natalia was very professional and caring, answered all of our questions and was always there. Thank you.

Where do I even start. First let me start with saying I have had my fair share of serious injuries, and have been to many different hospitals, this is by far my worst hospital experience. I tore my patellar tendon and required surgery. Firstly, when I was admitted the nurse rudely interrupted me eating some food a family member brought to me, to hook me up to fluids and such, but I didn't have to stop drinking/ eating until midnight- 1am. It was 8pm and still had time to hydrate myself. The nurse also knocked my water off the chair without picking it up for me, and went on break (I didn't see her for over an hour). I had to argue with another nurse to unhook the ivy so I was able to bend my arm and finish my meal. No one came to check on me all night, I had to help myself to the bathroom and get myself water. The next morning, the nurse that prepped me for surgery disposed of my pants along with my wallet. I was out of it and didn't realize at the time, but when I confronted them about my missing wallet, they told me I never had it and did next to nothing to help me find it.The follow up appointment I had two weeks later was with a random surgeon, not the one that did my surgery. They removed my staples and wanted a follow up appointment five weeks after that date, and they would refer me to physio after that. With this injury, you are supposed to get 90 degrees of range of motion six weeks after surgery, and this doctor wants me to START physio 7 weeks after surgery. Luckily I know better and set up physio therapy myself, but I am still one week behind schedule now. If it was up to the doctor, I would permanently lose range of motion in my knee.By far the worst hospital experience I have ever had. If you're in an emergency situation, and can make the drive, go to headwaters in Orangeville or Newmarket hospital, they are much more organized and care about their patients.

I’m a doctor myself and first time here was an unpleasant experience (Mar 6). I came for UT/kidney U/S appointment and a few issues:- messed up my appt registration- waiting for a long time past my appt, unacceptable due to the nature of my appt- when I told them I am uncomfortable and have to go to work, they told me they are behind in schedule and if I’m uncomfortable to use the bathroom!- when I finally got attended to, a rude technician (younger lady) did my ultrasoundAnyways, this is a modern hospital full of arrogant and unprofessional staff that have no respect for patients and their time.

Corrupt. The experience was terrible doctor negligence, harm done, and dishonesty. Avoid this hospital if you are able to.

Went in for radiating chest pain at 10:30am on a monday. I waited for my results from X-ray, ECG, and ultrasound for more than 5 hours. my questions regarding how many tests i have left are ignored and i’m simply told to wait. The entire time my chest has been hurting and i have been very uncomfortable. I understand the ER must triage and nothing works as smoothly as expected, but spending over 8 hours in the ER and not being told when i’ll be seen or any information regarding my condition has left me frustrated and disappointed. I would expect this from an older hospital with less resources and equipment .

Very disappointed with ER referral and Pregnancy Assessment ClinicI’m currently 17 weeks pregnant and went into the hospital Friday, Feb 23 as I was bleeding and passing blood clots. The ER Dr at the end of my visit referred me to the Pregnancy Assessment Clinic at the hospital; especially considering that my current OB was being unresponsive to my complications and needs. Before I left the hospital, I received an appointment at the ClinicMy appointment was scheduled for Thursday, Feb 29 and Feb 28 at 3pm I received a call from a woman who worked at the clinic to advise me she was cancelling my appointment and will not been because I don’t meet the criteria. She proceeded to tell me this clinic was for miscarriages only and the ER Dr made a mistake. I was really confused and starting to stress as I just wanted to be seen by an OB that would help me with my complications. The representative was very abrupt and full of attitude. At one point in the conversation she told me there were no Dr’s that worked at the clinic and so I would be turned away and be wasting my time. Not a call I was expecting less than 24 hours to my appointment. And definitely not the kind of treatment that is remotely acceptable as a representative of a hospital, and considering you’re calling someone who is having complications in her pregnancy and already worried about that. She caused such unnecessary stress and worry and her overall behaviour was absolutely disgusting!I will not be returning to this hospital

I have now been at cortellucci twice now for my 90 year old mom and both experiences were not good both times I’ve had to wait well over 30 hours just to get a bed upstairs, I understand being busy and I understand not having available beds but over 30 hours come on something is not working right. I am very disappointed and may have to travel further to NYGH cause we never ever had to wait anywhere close to that to get a bed. As I am writing this review my mother is still waiting for a room now being 33 hours I missed 2 days of work because of this, not good.

I had 2 surgeries at this hospital. Both times my personal experience was positive. Really professional approach. Some minor things could be done better, but I understand that today's reality is difficult, there are problems, understaffing, nobody is perfect, mistakes happen, nurses are human too. Thank you. Really appreciate.

I've been here a few times now due to ongoing health issues and complications and I can firmly say that every single one of the ER doctors at this hospital are extremely disrespectful, condescending, dismissive. The bar is already very low considering the state of our healthcare system in Canada but I was shocked at the lack of care and negligence at this hospital. One trait our medical professionals should not have is being cold and nonchalant and seeing this in these doctors, is a disappointment. They won't ask any questions about health history and just throw prescriptions at you with strong medication's that cause serious damage. I'm shocked and confused as to how these doctors are allowed to practice in medicine and deal with people who are in pain. One of the doctors i dealt with is David Carr and the most recent one was an asian doctor named Ping Fu, he raised his voice at me and his exact words were "I don't care if you come here 10 times you'll get the same answer" proceeded to tell me he will not be referring me to a neurologist because he felt like it and later referred me anyways. The nurses that witnessed this just told me hes a rude person and talks to everyone like that, including the staff. Shame on Dr.'s like this.Edit: I forgot to mention the nurse poked the wrong vein leaving me extremely bruised and five days later in my arm was still hurting. Disspointed to say this hospital is a mess.
