It’s currently 8:15 am and the store opens at 8. There are 2 staff in the store ignoring me and won’t unlock the door. Extremely rude when they finally opened the door there was no apology or acknowledgement of making me stand outside for 15 minutes

I recently visited this Dollarama location with the intention of making a purchase. Despite their advertised closing time of 9:00 PM, the store was abruptly closed five minutes before, leaving me and other customers stranded outside.
When I inquired about the early closure, an employee stated that the store was "too crowded." This explanation seemed unreasonable, especially considering the time of day. It's disheartening to encounter such a poor customer service experience from a well-known company.
I witnessed an elderly woman who was unable to enter the store due to the early closure, forced to return home in the cold weather. It's understandable that customers might be late occasionally, and it would be reasonable to expect some flexibility from the store.
Unfortunately, the employees' lack of understanding and empathy contributed to a frustrating and disappointing experience.

It’s a small store compared to other Dollaramas. Small isles and limited stock. I’ve been there a couple times looking for something specific and not finding it. Also difficult to get into parking spots when they put this in such a busy place with many other businesses and really poor setup. I prefer other stores that are easier to get to.

Bought a wrong broom handle. They didn’t have any matching heads to handles. Brought it back within 5 minutes to return. They wouldn’t let me return it.

Bought pencil baskets for my classroom which were in groups of 3. One was damaged so I asked if I could buy 2 of the 3 for a reduced price. As a teacher, I am spending my own money. The owner gave me a firm no and said he was going to put it in the garbage. So, rather than sell them, he preferred to put them in the garbage. Items my kids would have used for years to come. Very disappointed. Will drive to St. Jacobs from now on.

Purchased a $5 flower pot, went home and realized it was to small so I brought it back.. less than 15 minutes and they wouldn’t refund or exchange it.. absolutely no help with the cashier or manager.. I understand it’s my fault for not knowing the size I needed. But to have an absolutely no exchange or return police is not the way to go.

Creepy security/secret shoper stopped me and my daughter on our way out with force, he first grabbed me then screamed at us for candy and I definitely did not steal and if I did it is not legal to touch anyone and definitely not my minor daughter who also has ptsd and now I have another appointment with her therapist asap. And I do not know if my daughter stole but she told me she didn't and I believe her and she was with me the whole time. He could've asked us politely to check our pockets or something but instead made me fall on a car on my out because he grabbed me and my daughter and her ptsd made her have a panic attack when the Indian secret shopper security grabbed her and I. I will never be shopping here again you guys have lost a loyal customer, I have spend well over $1000 here. I will be looking into pressing charges with my husband who is a cop.
