Just curious if rona is broke and can’t afford employees? Friday evening I walked around in the paint section, lights section, and other aisles looking for what I needed. I didn’t see a single employee, until I got to the checkout, and then I saw a single employee, directing customers to self checkout. Multiple cashier stations empty, no employees. I don’t want to do self check out. For why. Do better Rona, hire employees.

I had been looking for months on end for a very specific Range Hood to complete our kitchen renovation. I had called every practically every appliance store in Ontario and I was willing to drive to and get it. I can’t count how many stores I had called but the ones I did, showed they had one or two in stock. Not a single person at these stores was willing to do a physical check to see if their system was accurate. Every one would just say, “oh that’s most likely and error and we don’t have one.” This was frustrating toy say the least. Then I called this Rona and I was connected with Mike in the appliance department. I went through the same explanation, but the only difference is that he was actually willing to go and do a physical check. 10 minutes later my phone rings and it’s Mike with great news. He found it. It was there but just hidden and tagged with the wrong item number. It still had the Lowe’s itemNumber on the box, but he found it. He went above and beyond. He had it pulled out and on a cart for me when I arrived to pick up the unit one hour later. Thank you Mike! I wish that there were more individuals that were willing to provide the level of service you did. I appreciate you and your efforts.

I want to send a shout out to Paul who works in appliances. He was extremely helpful in providing information about warranty support for our Moen faucet. By his admission his expertise lied elsewhere, but his professionalism and attitude was refreshing. Thank you Paul!

We went into this location with questions about barbecues and meet Art who quickly said hello and how can he help.Art’s approach was sincere-enthusiastic-knowledgeable and he genuinely wanted to make our experience extremely positive.Art demonstrated what great customer service is and he got Rona a sale; great job Art.

My partner and I went in today to look at some stains for a house project we’re doing. We had Peter helping us and he was absolutely amazing - so incredibly helpful & knew his stuff. He spent about 30 minutes with us to ensure we got the stain that we wanted - helping us with some sampling and answering our million questions, haha. Haven’t had such a good customer experience in a while.

Went to purchase a Christmas tree yesterday. I could count 5 employees that were not doing anything. No one could help me. I had to go to the customer service desk twice until the finally sent someone to get our tree ready. Your could tell this employee had no desire to work and had never done this type of work. Sad to see Lowes go to come to this now. There were no customers in the store either so I don't think Rona will be un business for long. Employees were talking and laughing while I waited and no one came to help.

I absolutely love it when I walk into a store and can easily find someone to help me. It's usually such a hassle in big stores, trying to find even one person to assist. I had two people come up to me, asking if I needed any help. That's so rare and totally amazing! It made my trip much quicker!

After walking into Rona for an outdoor wood project, I felt reassured since Martin was on shift and I knew he'd take care of me, turning what I feared would be a frustrating time-consuming experience into a relief. On prior lumber-related projects he'd consistently provided the highest quality service, and took care to quickly resolve each reason for my visit. Martin provides a level of service that's rare in Canada, and having him on staff is a big asset for Rona, and makes me much more likely to choose and buy from Rona over competitors in the region. His lumber cuts are precise, he's knowledgeable, efficient, professional, and he's customer service focused. It speaks well of Rona that they chose to have him on staff, and that's reassuring to me. I'd without hesitation give full grades on any survey related to Rona lumber in-store customer experience because of him.

I walked my dog around in here to waste time and check out some appliances. Had a really nice conversation with Paul, one of the workers, over by the fridge section. Lots of easy self check out spots, super convenient! Paul was great, would come again!

Went to Rona around 1:30 pm. Just needed 1, 2x4 cut. Walked around the store. Might have been 5 workers none asking for help. No cashier at the contractor checkout. Asked the guy at the Pro desk if someone could cut a 2x4. He paged for help went back and waited 15 minutes nobody showed up. Walked out and said nobody came and helped and the pro desk guy says “nice”. Can be seen on camera if you don’t believe it. Spent a few grand at this place in the past week and never again! Went up to Home Depot and was in and out in 10 mins. Again, never again!

It's sad what Rona did to this store when they bought it from Lowe's. Lowe's was such an excellent store with knowledgeable staff eager to help and an excellent selection of stock. Now? The place is empty. On a recent weekend afternoon, I could barely find anyone to help with a question. We bought all of our appliances here when it was Lowe's. The staff was friendly and full of sound advice and suggestions. Now I counted about five or six people working in the entire place. It's worse than Canadian Tire. An employee told me Rona basically came in and fired everyone and cut hours way back. The staff used to be the reason to go to this store, the reason it stood above other chains. Now, there's little difference between this place and the horrible Home Depot or the equally horrible Canadian Tire. They didn't even have any mulch left in the pathetic garden center at peak mulching season!I decided to downgrade this to one star from two because of the lame, canned reply.

I would give 0 stars if possible. This is probably the third time I've gone to rona out of location convenience and am reminded once again why I don't go there. I the plumbing department was unmanned for 20 mins while I grabbed what I intended on purchasing and it took another 5-10 mins to find an associate that could call the plumbing department associate to their station. All I needed was a simple replacement for a moen o-ring that the moen representatives give to department stores to provide customers who own moen products.Everytime I come here the plumbing associate argues with me about the existence of free replacements and insists I pay an inflated price for my free part instead. It's sad that department stores can't be bothered to educate their associates before allowing them to run a specialized area of the store.I need to contact moen about their parts policy now because a competitor (that had provided me with faucet repair kits in the past) claimed moen doesn't provide them anymore, ust cartridges. That other associate didn't even look though so I believe he just didn't want to deal with digging it out.Regardless of that though having a section of your store completely unmanned for 20+ minutes is unacceptable. Especially when other associates claim the one guy manning it must be on lunch @ 7:15 pm. Only to find that two associates were in charge of the area....

Used to love this place when it was a Lowes. Went in today to get some assorted bolts, washers, and wire. To my surprise they only have self-checkout. I loathe self-checkout. I guess it's fine if I'm buying something pre-packed, but these are loose items.I entered in the item code and immediately a store associate is required to confirm the code and quantity of that item code. We waited a minute or two and decided to simply drop the items and walk out. As we were turning to leave an employee came over to help us and the employee entered in the qty of items purchased. Two bolts. Two washers. etc. Why not just have a cashier ready? Tell ya what, next time I want to do self-checkout, I'll use Amazon. And they'll deliver it to me -- for free. No sense returning until this nonsense self-checkout is abolished.

This morning I purchased a dishwasher. Curly was very helpful and provided me with the info I needed for a decision. He was enthusiastic about the choice I made.
