I had a really uncomfortable experience at this location. One of the employees (a woman wearing a bow) was very rude and spoke to me in a condescending way. When I accidentally picked up the wrong product, she acted like I was stupid or crazy instead of politely helping me.
After this experience, it’s clear why this location has so many 1-star reviews. A lot of customers are saying the same thing about how rude the staff is, and unfortunately my visit confirmed that.

Usually I hate going into Sephora because it feels very overwhelming but this time I had one of the best experiences there. Julianna was extremely helpful to me and my friend. She was so sweet and helped with shade matches and genuinely went above and beyond. My friend and I absolutely loved her and would come back just to see her. She’s a keeper ❤️

If you dont walk into this location with a full face of make up and look a certain way the staff here will not help you. I was coming in to buy two bottles of perfume and wasn't greeted or helped with anything... I will not return to this location ever

My sisters boyfriend went here to get my sisters christmas gifts. The employees here are very rude. They called him an idiot for shopping late for christmas when they do not know the reason he could’ve had to shop so late. All because he asked if they had something at the store. I will not be recommending or shopping here again because there is no reason to have someone upset because of the way you were treating them.

I normally don’t come into Sephora unless I ABSOLUTELY have too, but this year I figured it redeem my free bday gift because normally I don’t get one due to a later birthday. I get to Sephora earlier this year to buy something, I asked her about the gifts & she goes “we have more this year so even at the end of the year, we’ll still have gifts.” Very similar to that. I got excited, waited, went on my actually bday which was yesterday, to find out that they don’t even have birthday gifts anymore. Why tell people you’ll have enough, but you guys never have enough for the end. Anyways. Went to Fairview and got my well earned gift! :D

The girl savi, is soo sweet and nice. I’ve never found the most perfect shade match and it was because of her. She definitely deserves all the love. She defineltely adds so much positivity to the store.

The staff were generally welcoming, and the products offered were good with a decent selection. However, the lady who appeared to be the manager did not seem suited to a customer facing role. She was not particularly welcoming, came across as somewhat rude, and did not display a friendly manner. This unfortunately affected the overall experience.

I visited Sephora at Conestoga Mall in Waterloo today and had one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever encountered. Several staff members—including a customer service rep, a woman claiming to be a manager, and the store manager Sarah—were rude, dismissive, and unprofessional.
I was trying to return an eye shadow that caused an allergic reaction after first use. The product had been recommended by a Sephora rep at another location. Despite the fact that the return policy was not printed on my receipt, I was told I was past the 30-day window and they refused even an exchange or store credit. Instead of helping, they told me to call a 1-800 number and moved on to other customers.
When I expressed that this may lead to a complaint, they accused me of “threatening” them, claimed my partner swore at them (which is completely false), asked me to step aside, and even called mall security rather than attempt a reasonable solution. One employee even said she felt “unsafe” simply because I was expressing a concern.
This behaviour is unacceptable. If everything must be handled online or by phone, what is the point of having in-store staff? The experience left a terrible impression, and I will not be shopping at Sephora again. I expect an apology from the store and Sephora Canada, as this entire issue could have been handled in minutes with professionalism and basic courtesy. Instead, I was treated as an inconvenience and denied help for a $60 product that caused a reaction.
Sephora needs to take responsibility for poor service, unclear return policies, and store conditions that could have led to product contamination and caused a skin rash. No loyal customer should have to escalate to head office or public reviews just to be heard.

The manager, Sarah, who presents herself as the General Manager, has demonstrated a clear lack of understanding of proper customer service standards. Additionally, this location appears to be operating in violation of several health and safety requirements.
Due to the seriousness of these concerns, I have submitted reports to Public Health and Health Canada for further review.
I strongly urge upper management to address these issues immediately.
