Please read some of these other reviews. Because they are all experiencing the same thing that I went through.
I won't be coming back to this store. And I usually have the same issues with them every time. I bring in stuff that hasn't even been used, or has at least been tried on
and I'm being told that they are well loved items? Or outdated when they were bought recently. I also brought in a new baby bouncer (baby didn't like it) that I had bought a month before my daughter was born, sometime this summer I think I paid $70 plus tax at toys r us, and I'm pretty sure they gave me $15 for it. The first person I dealt with was fine, the other lady was rude and gave me back the batteries that go into the bouncer, as if I should have never brought them in the first place, which is needed to test the item to see if it works.
Other times I've came to this store. It's been mostly rudeness and being told that new items are outdated and not fit to be sold. In the meantime, in the past, I have bought some very well loved items from them!!!
Save your time and money.

Extremely disapointed with the way i was treated at this location today. The person working at the front was beyond rude and did not go through the order i brought in. All the other staff were friendly but she was down right offensive. At the end of the day they make profit off of the items they buy and lack any customer service skills at all. I will not be returning here and will make sure to spread the word. I took items back in to ask them if they even looked at them and they ended up paying out for them. Even the cashier who rang me out apologized for her coworkers behaviour and approach.

Staff are friendly, however this location is way too over priced and selection isn’t the greatest compared to Ajax location! Also there was a baby Jordan set that is sold at winners and they are selling it for the same price as winners …

First time going to this location and was greeted immediately when I walked in. Nicely organized in there and had such cute&pretty clothes for baby girl! I wanted everything lol. One of the ladies saw that I was going through the 10 for $10 area and asked if I needed a basket and even brought one to me! Had a great experience :D

I recently visited Once Upon a Child and had a fantastic experience! The staff were so friendly and helpful, making the entire process super easy. Selling items was a breeze, quick and efficient. The store itself was incredibly clean and well-organized, which made shopping there a pleasure. Thank you to the team for such a positive visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Ignorant staff-specifically this location. I have been twice to drop off, always bringing neatly folded clothes in a tote. Staff didn't realize I saw the looks on their faces when I was on the way to door, snide comments were made because I could see them all looking and laughing through the door (yes we see you ladies) I asked before I brought the baby swing in, if they accepted them. She said yes. So I carried it in, no we don't accept THOSE swings. The model# is on it. Clearly not part of the recall as you suggested. But yes throw some snarky comment at me and roll your eyes. Here's a tip- if you hate your job and seethe misery, THEN QUIT. Lady at pick up was the only friendly in there. Will NEVER return here. I suggest if you are reading this go somewhere else.

Today was my first time at Once Upon a Child in Whitby, and I felt very welcomed as soon as I entered the store. I had called the day before to inquire about the store policies, and the staff provided clear and fair information. I went there to sell my son’clothes, and the purchase offer was fair. The store was busy, which is normal for a place that buys and sells a lot of kids’ items . Very good Services.

When I am shopping and spending money, I have no problem getting good customer service and employees with smiles on their faces. However, every time I have sold to this store I have been met with rude, unaccommodating, snarky, unhappy employees. If you don't like your job in customer service, then find another job. It's as simple as that. Don't take out your frustrations about your employment on your customers. I have been to multiple Once Upon a Child's locations, both to purchase and to sell, and this location has by far the worst customer service experience. The only reason I keep going to Whitby Once Upon a Child, is because it is so close to my house. So my suggestion for every other Shopper or Seller is : if you can help it, go to a different location. Because these employees just do not care.

They have good selection in most categories.
Unfortunately, their sleep section is horrible for the 12month and up age groups. I purchased a sleeper for one of my one year olds here, and within a day, noticed wear and tear at the feet of the item. Some of the items look heavily worn too, and honestly shouldn’t be on the shelves.
Also, the customer service is as mentioned by many other reviewers: quite poor.

Went there Friday at 4pm. Drove from Newcastle with 2 children 2 and under. When I walked in, the owner tells me the sorting counter is closed. They were open until 8pm but decided to close the counter 4 hours earlier than normal. I explained I came from Newcastle and the owner said if I waited in store that she would look through it quick. She was extremely rude. Told me I had to call first because it’s their busy season. Nowhere on the website does it say the sorting counter closes early during any times/seasons or that you need to call before dropping clothes off. I have never called before and never had an issue. I told her I appreciated her looking through the clothes and she ignored me. Then was huffing and puffing while sorting through the clothes. She took way less than they normally buy from me I’m assuming because she was frustrated that I didn’t know her call first rule. Then one of their staff members walked in and she started clapping at her trying to embarrass her. She was extremely unprofessional and made me uncomfortable the whole time I was in the store. Next time I will be driving the extra 20 mins to Ajax. Couldn’t believe that a business owner would treat customers and staff this way.

They have good selection. It is a small store but organized well. I gave 2 stars for the staff as I feel that they could be better with their customer specially with a child who is just looking at a toy.

Staff there were extremely rude. My husband and I went and donated two massive loads of freshly cleaned, sorted and folded baby clothes which we all brand name items. We received nothing but rude remarks, first about bringing them in a bag when we told them at the start that we never sold to them before so didn’t know there were rules about having to bring it in a tote. They also didn’t even open our second bag. It was exactly how we gave it to them. Which is horrible because we waited around for 3 hours for them to “sort” our bags when they didn't. They claimed that we had “pet hair” so did not accept. We do not have any for one and two we went through EACH item at home prior to selling to them to make each piece was good quality to sell. These staff clearly just make up things so they don’t have to go through these items. I felt very uncomfortable by bringing them clothing items as if I was creating more work for them and inconvenienced them even though this is their job. I will NEVER sell clothes to them again. I will simply just donate to other places due to the unkind staff.

Came here to sell kids clothes. I was informed that the clothes had dry food bits on them. I went home and checked each individual piece of clothing only to find that they were all clean (I spent two days washing all the clothes before putting them in a bag). I can only assume it was sheer laziness or perhaps "too much" for them to bother looking through. When I received the clothes back, it was clear that no more than 10 items were reviewed before they decided they didn't want to look through the batch of clothing.
It's unacceptable to tell a patron that there was food on the clothes when that was not the case. Perhaps they got it mixed up with someone else's clothes. The employees did not even bother looking through the entire batch to see all clean clothes.
I will definitely not sell my kids clothes at this store andI will certainly not shop at a store with no integrity.

So let me get this straight. You want top dollar for your clothing that you’re bringing in but you wanna pay low prices on what your purchasing ,please make it make sense ????
If something is worth 60 and you want more then half of the 60 , but then want to pay cheap prices. How can they make money??
It’s a clean and organize store. I love how they post things on their Facebook stories and they also give you an option to hold items for a period of time. I’ve been able to buy my granddaughter clean and great condition name brand items for a great price . I’ve never been talked to disrespectful by the staff and I always tell people to go check the store out .
Always look forward to going to this store to see what goodie’s I’m going to get . ❤️
