“I LOVE this place - anyone making a bad review is absolutely wrong. These guys have been very good to me for close to ten years. Special orders, if a fish of mine died within 5 days of dying I’d get a replacement or 50% refund - copious amounts of free information have been given to me, and always a kind service. They’re a small shop, they have to change some policies here and there to stay open and succeeding and I support that.
Big Al’s is great - I would highly recommend this over PetSmart. Pet smart uses the same water filter system for ALL of their fish tanks, and unethically source a lot of their product.”

I cannot say enough incredible things about PetSmart North Whitby, especially the manager Chris and the amazing Bruna. From the moment you walk into this store, you can feel the difference professionalism, care, organization, and genuine love for animals radiate through every interaction.
I have been coming to this location consistently for over a year, and I have never once had a disappointing experience. Not a single time. The store is always well run, clean, and staffed by people who clearly care about both the pets and their owners. Chris leads with integrity and consistency, and Bruna goes above and beyond every single visit compassionate, knowledgeable, and always willing to help with a smile.
The level of care my dog receives here is unmatched. I trust this team completely, and that trust has been earned through repeated excellence, not just words. Anyone leaving negative reviews is simply not being honest or is projecting their own unhappiness because this store operates at a level that speaks for itself.
If you want the best care for your pet, knowledgeable staff, and management that truly sets the bar, this is the location. PetSmart North Whitby is lucky to have Chris and Bruna, and customers like myself are even luckier to be served by them.
