The financial advisor knew less about the credit card that I was applying for than I did. He was just reading off the website, reiterating exactly what I already researched on the card myself from the website. Not only that, I had to tell HIM about the promotion and policy going on for the credit cards (waiver of the 1st annual fee for new customers). Next he lied to me stating that I could rush the credit card knowing fully well that I wasn’t an existing Scotiabank customer. I repeated them SEVERAL times. Existing customers can have their credit cards rushed but new customers can’t (which I learned when on the phone with a different Scotiabank employee after my experience at this branch). The branch employee was incredibly inexperienced and not knowledgeable at all. If he didn’t know what the policy was, he simply could have notified me and brought in a colleague or even the branch manager, literally anyone with more expertise to explain to me what the proper policy was. However he proceeded knowing he could make a quick sale of the credit card I wanted to acquire. Is this how Scotiabank operates? Is this who they promote? Someone whose goal is to deceive customers? The only reason why I will not be cancelling my credit card is because he needed to do a hard credit check on me in order to get this card, however mark my words, I will not ever acquire another card with Scotiabank past this one. Hire better, and do better.

Staff members are really unprofessional. I went there to get a profile statement. It was Saturday, they didn’t want to do their work so I was told by a staff member that She couldn’t provide me service and I have to go to my home branch. I went to my home branch and asked them. I was told by my home branch that any scotia bank can provide me my statement.

I experienced exceptional service at Scotiabank Whitby today. The staff, particularly Michelle, went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. Michelle was mindful of time and ensured that my visit was not only efficient but also turned it into an excellent experience.

Even though my rating was low, the assistant manager reached out and showed real care. The branch has a friendly vibe, and I value their effort to make things right. They're really focused on making customers happy. Thanks for the follow-up and great service!

This isn’t about this location specifically. I’m sick and tired of rude people on the phone. I understand that people get tired and fed up of their jobs but the rudeness is completely unnecessary. I was redirected multiple times-which I didn’t mind. I’m just mentioning that for future reference. Everyone was kind except for the last person I spoke to. Some rep named “Valen”. Not only was she rushing the conversation but she cut me off multiple times and had an inexcusably rude and irritated tone. She was obnoxious right out of the gate. I was polite to all 5 people I was redirected to, including her. Some patrons would’ve been angry for being sent to 5 different people. I wasn’t, and she was still ill-mannered. I even asked her if she was okay, to which she condescendingly said “yep.” and when I still politely thanked her for her help she hung up abruptly. My problem wasn’t even actually solved. I tried to fix my issue after she hung up. My problem is still not fixed.

The pregnant caucasian woman there was horrible. I was having a pleasant transaction with an employee today and she cut in and told me that she couldn't cash a government cheque because "Only having a driver's license as ID (in order to cash said cheque) is illegal and can't be done" .. So I also offered my health card with photo ID and she denied it completely, saying that was invalid. Even though it clearly states on the Canadian federal website that you only need a driver's license as ID. I have never had this issue anywhere else other than with her. She was exceptionally rude as well, treating me with disrespect and had a horrible attitude. She should not be working anywhere in customer service.

The pregnant Caucasian lady was horrible. I went in there to ask a couple questions because I needed to transfer funds to pay a bill. She inserted herself into the conversation I was having with another employee and asked me why I didn’t go to my own bank and told me I can’t just open a bank account to send a transfer. I was so shaken up I just said thank you and left because of the horrible service and disrespect I received from her. I’ve never experienced such treatment from a bank before and I hope no one else goes through what i went through because I can’t even put into words the treatment I received.

Parked here at 8:30am 1 hour prior to open time. Realized they were not open yet. Figured i would grab a juice across the street, came back and they had the town of whitby issue me a 50$ ticket. The bank manager here should reconsider how they treat patrons. Screw your ticket. Ill expense it and get it back through taxes. There is a reason this bank has a low rating. Even more reason to go to RBC or TD. Never had a parking ticket from them.

Worst branch I have ever been to. Completely try to avoid this branch. Rude staff super rude manager. To some up if you want to deal with “KAREN” manager you are at the right spot.

Trying to find out where a bank wire transfer is and getting the run around? Call support number, she was very helpful, said the branch has to look into it, branch said I need to call the number on the back of the card, they said I have to deal with the brach. Someone help. Michelle at the branch has all the screen grabs for the info needed to track down this wire.

Long time customer 36yrs , love this bank friendly staff .I wanted to say something about the picture with all the garbage bags ; they came from the house called * Salvation Army * for homeless people all that garbage came from that house ; it's pretty sad & disgusting that they put their . Our inside Abm is closed to us because of them ; totally unfair
