Would give zero stars if possible. Wanted to buy a clearance item marked down on the tag as 29.99 but the sign said 19.99. Went to ask an employee the price so that when we went to cash, it didn’t have to be checked then. As the employee was going to check the price with her scanner, her co worker chimed in and said the price. We just wanted a double check anyway so we didn’t have an issue at cash. This employee that interjected without being asked, rolled her eyes and walked away. We went to a “co manager”(9:40am outside the self checkout by McDonald’s) and this joke of a manager did not allow us to explain what happened and looked puzzled at the word “chimed” in. She kept saying that this one just provided customer service. No. Customer service isn’t rolling your eyes. This manager ended up just walking away. Absolute joke of a situation, employees and someone who is in a manager role.
Doubt I’ll get any response other than your generic copy and paste responses.

Ignoring all the blatant racism from the ⭐️ and 2 ⭐️⭐️ people complaining about not seeing a happy Halloween sign ( Gasp! There was a happy Diwali sign during Diwali 🕯) or hearing people speak in their native language while communicating to each other on BREAK. Yeah those folks are afraid of a hint of melanin. Complaining about brown folks the way they do, God forbid they see my black face 🫣 they might have an aneurysm.
The store is fine, you buy stuff, you get out that's it. The only issues I would highlight is the fact that so often the self checkout lines are closed and I find myself often having to bring one or two items to the long line which means I have to wait like 20 minutes instead of being able to check out in 2 seconds.
The other issue is customer service usually when that blonde lady with glasses-- the one who you see complaining all the time is working the counter. Yeah anyone who's been going to the store for years knows her and has most likely had an awful experience with her. The lady will talk about you to other customers and will talk about her co-workers to other customers. The rudeness is...not great but I tend to let it be. Its been years and she's still nasty. But please when someone impedes the function of the store. 🥲Sometimes at customer service I see her just plain not want to help people. People will come to return their items or ask questions and she just gives up and says there's nothing she can do but if you go to another Walmart in say Ajax or Oshawa they can do something. I doubt they'll fire her she's been there so long since I was a teenager. Honestly I don't even want her removed, I just want her to be nicer like if she's having a bad day mybe give her some time off because maybe that would help her be nice I don't know. just a suggestion. The Walmart is fine except for when it's not

*BUYER BEWARE OF GIFT CARDS* Came to this location to purchase multiple vanilla gift cards. 3 of these gift cards were fraudulent and one I had already given out. This is how I found out it was not legit. I called Vanilla Gift Cards that night and was advised to go back to Wal-Mart and they can look after me. I went to customer service to inform them of the issue and was meet with a piece a paper to call a number and got told its 3rd party and not their problem. I would HIGHLY recommend you go to shoppers to purchase your giftcards. They keep them behind the counter and stand by the gift cards that are sold. Especially, with the holiday season, I would be aware of getting these here. I am now having to deal with vanilla prepaid which could take up to 15 business days which will be past christmas.

Improper customer service by “Nargease” from Walmart, this person served me billing 2days ago., this person is extremely impatient and zero knowledge on how to serve a customer., there was no tag on a sweater that I bought, Walmart should check it, not the customer., she is asking me multiple questions instead of figuring it out;
She wasted so much time get it sorted. Not only this, Nargease said these words that “this billing is going to take forever” to a next customer, I have to say that she stayed free standing without billing for so much time during my service;
“I have already explained to your wife” that means she won’t explain it again, and she didn’t explain me, pathetic English.,
“It is been 30min, the billing line is blocked”- it is only 5min from my end, rest all is her fault
“Any billing above $100 wouldn’t accept tap, and you should know about it”- she should understand that this is not my first shopping;
I think because of these poor services, this Walmart will be always empty and have old stock., nobody wants to come here,.
If the senior team from Whitby Walmart doesn’t look into these things, they will loose more people and there are better stores with good quality available in the market.

5 stars by far for Valerie, I work in retail and I don't really get blown away by average/good service, but Valerie tonight I asked her for something, she then helped me for about 5 minutes trying to find it and I said no worries cuz we couldn't find it she came to be about 10 minutes later and told me WM had it in the pharmacy. Poorly written sorry but yeah please we need more people like this working in retail

brought 2 14 year old boys to do grocery shopping with me, they ended up touching the electric carts and got in trouble (without my knowledge) as we are leaving one of the ladies that worked their RESPECTFULLY told me the boys needed to leave due to walmart not wanting them to touch the electric carts LOL (that has to be the dumbest reason to get kicked out of walmart) anyhow i apologized to the lady saying i didn’t know this happened, i will talk to them and we are leaving anyhow. the situation at this point was done and over with (with no disrespect between me and the woman worker) but then this guy with NO UNIFORM aggressively approached my 14year old nephew (not realize im right there and is his guardian) and aggressively started asking them who let them in walmart ? as i told him not to approach my 14year old with such aggression he looked at me and said “i will talk to whoever i want however i want who are you” he also told me to leave the two kids who are under my care at home while i grocery shop (FOR THESE KIDS!) first of all you are approaching us aggressively without even a walmart vest. looking like a kid yourself. this could’ve been anyone trying to start problems with my nephew. and the way he was speaking was actually disgusting and disrespectful. walmart needs to do better and not have young people with no mannerism or any professionalism be a “manager” as he claims. as well as the way he was aggressive to minors. do better. very disturbing to say the least.

Avoid vision centre. Bad service overall. They made me visit three times to pick up the glasses as the optician works at random times. There is no fixed time. So if you are going to pick up the prescription glasses during regular business hours think twice. Sometimes she works from
12 sometimes leaves at 4:45. There is no fixed time and these times are not advertised anywhere. Even the assistant staff is incompetent. Avoid.

I don’t understand why this walmart have big signs for “Happy Diwali” and there is no signs for “Happy Halloween”.
The Manager at the store doesn’t even have the decency to talk to us in person. She wants to talk only on their phone line. She explained that they have halloween signs which says “Spooky” in the front but unwilling to put the word “Happy Halloween”.
I don’t understand why Walmart is ONLY celebrating a hindu holiday in North American chain.
I will be following this up with corporate.

Do not buy from the bakery. I found a piece of sharp plastic inside a muffin. It could have cut my throat or worse. Who knows how many more pieces got into the batch or others. I tried to contact Walmart but either got hung up on or directed to someone else who pointed to someone else.
Horrible customer service and clearly do not care about the health and safety of their customers or employees.
As someone who works in retail management, this would never be acceptable with my team.

All of the self serve cashes were off and not function so I had the displeasure of being harassed to get a walmart credit card while trying to bag my groceries. Teach your employees that once someone says no politely 4 times THEY SHOULD STOP ASKING!!!
