New owner are very rude I don’t know how he got this business from a good company

Stopped for gas and snackies. The price is par but the cashier was constantly on his phone when we were in the store even while we were paying. I had to repeat myself numerous times just to pay for ny items. I find this insanely rude when serving customers. He didn't seem to be too happy about being at work in the slightest. The store didn't seem organized or upkept.

Pulled up at 10:55 to buy some beer. Asked the over weight lady with blue hair that was working what time they stop selling alcohol. She responded with “when my shift ends and it has started” then we asked her to clarify and the man next to her said 11:00. She then responded saying “my shift has already started and it’s close enough” HORRIBLE experience. Learn customer service and maybe consider dying your hair brown because it’s not looking good for you.

Not sure what’s going on with pumps, but wish I could attach the picture. $40 worth of gas, 25.062l…….. except on the same can I always use it was about 3litres shy. Cashier obviously can’t do anything about it, but it’s still not right. This was on July 14th, 2024. Took pictures, and hoping management will get back to me. How many people are being shorted gas on fill ups?
While on subject, always bought gas here, but more recently I go to city. Winchester is constantly 5-10 cents more a litre than in city, or kemptville for that matter.

I went in the other day to buy cigarettes. There's a newish cashier. She refused to pass the pack to me. I had to reach under the plexiglass barrier to retrieve it. Then she sarcastically said "Happy smoking "

ProsI was born and raised in the village where I was the retailer, made a lot of new friends and gained a lot of loyal customers over the years!ConsI had the opportunity to be a retailer at the same location for 35 years, the latter 7 being with Parkland Corporation! My experience with parkland was the most frustrating of my career, organizational, communication skills were awful. This progressively worsened as Covid came into the picture. Upper management didn’t seem to want to listen to anything and always pushed to territory Managers with no resolution to EVERYDAY issues. As we all know retail is a tough gig in normal circumstances but with Covid in the mix and absolutely no support from Corporate it really tells a tale about the company you’re dealing with. If I could suggest anything to the CEO of Parkland it would be get out in the Field, take your blinders off, make your own itinerary, don’t let your Directors/Territory Managers take you to the sites that they want you to see, talk to your retailers, let them have a voice! Without great retailers you have the same offer as everyone else in the Industry!Advice to ManagementStart taking care of your retailers, be accessible and responsive to there ongoing issues!
