Beware: Scamming and Racist Practices at MKTI recently had a harrowing experience with MKT that I feel compelled to share with fellow consumers. After purchasing a couch and chair from their store, I was promised a delivery within 5-6 weeks. However, when that timeframe passed without any communication from the store, I reached out only to be informed that the delivery had been pushed back to 8-10 weeks.Upon expressing my frustration to the director, Anita, I was offered a mere $300 delivery refund as compensation for the extended wait. Shockingly, during our conversation, Anita made a micro-aggressive assumption based on my race, insinuating that I would resort to yelling in person due to my ethnicity.This appalling behaviour, coupled with their deceptive delivery timelines, reveals a pattern of scamming and racism within MKT. Future customers beware: this establishment cannot be trusted, and its discriminatory practices must be exposed.Anita if you’re reading this, do better and please learn how to effectively communicate to your customers. Don’t talk just to fill the silence. As the director, you MUST treat all genders, ethnicities and identities equally. Do better!Giving 0 stars is not possibleUpdate:The director of the ELTE location called me to talk about the review I left.I appreciated his transparency and apology for the lack of communication regarding my delayed items.However, I must express my deep disappointment in the handling of the racism and microaggressions I experienced from your staff. It is disheartening that the director attempted to downplay the severity of the situation by suggesting that racism from a person of color is somehow excusable. As a member of the Black community, I am acutely aware that racial discrimination can come from individuals of ANY race, and it is imperative that all forms of racism are addressed and condemned.During my interaction with your staff member, I directly confronted the microaggressive comment and requested clarification, only to be met with refusal. This dismissive response further underscores the need for comprehensive anti-racism training within your organization. It is not enough to simply acknowledge diversity; proactive steps must be taken to educate staff and foster an inclusive environment where all customers are treated with respect and dignity.Furthermore, the attempt to coerce me into removing my negative review by offering a refund is both unethical and manipulative. Consumers have the right to share their honest experiences, and attempting to silence criticism only perpetuates a culture of complacency. I stand by my review as a necessary warning to potential customers about the lack of accountability and commitment to addressing issues of racial discrimination within your establishment.In conclusion, I urge your organization to prioritize implementing confronting anti-black racism training and fostering a culture of accountability and inclusivity.

Had a great shopping experience with Mark…. Who (I’m embarrassed to say)…I mistakenly addressed as “Andrew” the entire time ….despite misnaming him…he was friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, professional……and when I say I misnamed him…. I don’t mean once or twice …. I called him Andrew NUMEROUS times …. Including once where I bellowed across the sales floor, excited about an item that caught my eye…. “Hey Andrew!” …..damn …. Regardless of all that …. MARK….yes, M A R K ..helped us select a gorgeous, plush, stylish sectional that feel as though you’re sitting on a cloud of stuffed animals. My only problem will be staying awake long enough to watch any game, series or movie actually finish.

I bought a sofa from Elte Mkt in September and shortly thereafter, reached out to their customer service department as the cushions starting losing their shape after only 2 months.Customer service's resolve was to turn the cushions over periodically. Again, I had only used this sofa for 2 months! 2 months time to start turning over your cushions is not acceptable. The response from customer service was extremely disappointing as I had much higher expectations considering these pieces are supposed to be of high quality. I, personally will not be shopping here again as I feel like I didn't get my money's worth, which is a feeling you should have after spending thousands of dollars on furniture.

Awful experience! Bought a bed online on Nov 23rd (it was the last one in stock, a floor model and discontinued product line). Called the store on the 24th to confirm my order, no call back. Called the store 3 times on the 25th no called back. Had to finally call again and ask for the sales manager. She informed me she was “looking into” and I had to ask her to go check if the bed was even sold to me. She came back and said no. So I have now wasted half of Black Friday weekend, thinking I bought a bed on sale only to find out that it was sold to someone else AND she can’t even refund me, the website team needs to do it and they are apparently backlogged. Now I need to try a find another king bed in my budget before the end of Black Friday weekend. Thanks ELTE MKT!

The merchandise is beautiful. The store always looks great. I walked in early on a Tuesday and the store had no other customers. There were several employees at the front counter and not one of them even looked up or said hello. I walked through the entire store before one employee finally said hello, right before I left. There was a group of employees touring around and critically evaluating the displays, I walked right by them and not one of them said hello. It was not a great experience. They seemed to value how the place looks but not how it makes you feel being there.

They have a great choice of furniture but the theme is a little limited to the kind of Scandinavian furniture (am I right here) I like this style and I’ve already bought a few pieces of furniture here. The team is helpful, the space is big enough to showcase the products the quality is good the delays are long !

All the sales people on the floor were very helpful and very nice. Susan in particular was extremely patient with us as we were choosing our couch and armchairs. She even went above and beyond to sketch out a floor plan of our condo to help us make an informed decision with our limited space. She’s knowledgeable and a straight shooter. She made suggestions for US and our lifestyle. She listened and provided suggestions that we would not considered. Followed up with us to make sure we had all our questions answered. A fellow sales person who stepped in when Susan was busy was also very helpful!We ended up with an EXTREMELY comfortable couch and beautiful armchairs that will fit our condo perfectly. We were told 6-8 weeks for delivery for the couch and were able to pick up the armchairs the next day! Factory staff where we picked up our armchairs were very nice and helpful.

Patty and Florian, and in fact, ALL of the staff at Elte MKT, worked above and beyond for us. We had sizing difficulties that they were able to solve, and they worked really hard to stay within our budget. They night have cursed us at time, but you would never know it! Our modular sofa arrives tomorrow! I have recommended Elte MKT to everyone I know, and we will certainly be back again! Thanks Team!!

This place has so much beautiful merchandise to offer. It is huge so be ready to spend some time walking around their warehouse-looking space. I like the fact that you can walk around and not be interrupted or hurried by sales associates. Beautiful higher-end furniture but if you wish, wait for their sale prices. Service, once I was ready to place an order, was quick as there are many associates throughout the space.Walked out with a pillow and 2 Portman stools which I'm waiting to be delivered. Will post pictures.

Dec 17 my purchases at ELTE Mkt were delivered to my home. Palmerston delivery, Maga and Raulston, were excellent - professional, polite, and willingly set them up as requested.Special accolade to Patty Mojica-Lim at ELTE Mkt. Patty was exceptional in customer service. Actively listened to what I was looking for, asked great questions to make recommendations on color, texture, sizes etc.; willing to show alternatives and how various items look together. Patty has amazing people skills.To illustrate, I was walking around the showroom for at least 30 minutes and almost left, when Patty with a smile approached me to ask if she could help. She certainly changed my experience and initial impression. I highly recommend to request Patty if you are shopping at ELTE.

Poor after-sale experienceOn Jan. 10, 2022, I placed an order for a bed frame with full payment. The estimated delivery at that time was March of 2022.We are almost in October of 2022 and I have just been told after speaking to the store manager that the delivery date was moved again, now to the first week of Dec. 2022, and still WITHOUT any guarantee from ElteMkt that it would be delivered within that timeframe.I should note that the delivery date has been moved multiple times (around 5 to 6 times at this point) which is why I decided to escalate it. After speaking to the manager, the only options provided were to get a new bed frame or cancel the order and get a refund (either option will result at my loss if I decide to purchase a different bed from them or elsewhere due to recent inflation, not to mention there most likely would be another lead time for a new order).Bottom line is that ElteMkt has not taken any responsibility and has been reluctant to show any form of initiative to remedy the situation. During the call, the manager repeatedly asked what I would like them to do; I should think that instead of asking me that question and putting the onus on me to come up with a solution, they should be telling me what they have done in the last 9 months to address the delays. Instead, all I have received from the manager were vague, convenient answers relating to transportation/shipping issues, etc. which I have already heard multiple times. At a certain point, one can only use those excuses so much, and the fact that they keep failing to deliver on their ETAs without providing any viable resolution, and proceeding as if it’s not a recurring issue, says a lot about how little they value their commitment to their customers after making the sale.It’s unfortunate since I have always liked the store and have made purchases with them recently and in the past. However, in future I would think twice about placing an order with them again because there is a serious lack of accountability when it comes to handling an issue such as this one.
