Pet Mama is such an asset to the community, the quick and free delivery is just an absolute life saver. They have every product I need including some of the more obscure stuff like Da Mouse refills.

“I don’t care about your emergency. I am the owner and I can fire you whenever I want, so sue me.”—Chao, one of the owners of Pet MamaOn November 3, 2023, I notified Silvia, the co-owner of Pet Mama, that I would not be coming in for my shift due to an emergency. I have been dealing with a stalker who has been harassing and threatening to come to my home to hurt me. Due to the severity of the situation, I spent the day with police constables filing a report against said stalker.On November 4, 2023, I received a phone call from Silvia. I assumed the call would be regarding the emergency, perhaps checking in on her worker's safety. However, to my surprise, Silvia had called to FIRE me for not coming into work that day. Her excuse was that I had rescheduled my shifts too many times. I have only ever requested time off twice. The first time was because I had an appointment and the second time I requested time off for my partner’s birthday and my own birthday. At the time, she seemed fine with the requests and rescheduled. But the last straw for Silvia was the day in which I was in a crisis and could not show up for one shift. I think it is unreasonable to pay someone minimum wage and expect them to be at the snap of your fingers whenever.I also find Silvia’s complete lack of empathy and understanding to be extremely disgusting. She seems to care about the profit of her business over her workers. She pressures her workers to stay in the basement during their 20 minute breaks so they can be on call whenever. Even if the employer pays for meal breaks, the employee must be free from work in order for the time to be considered a meal break. Furthermore, employers are required to give employees at least 30 minute breaks.Silvia also sells some pet food/treats from low quality brands that are known to be unhealthy for animals but as long as it makes her money. Do not rely on her for advice on the wellbeing of your pet, please seek a licensed veterinarian as she pretends to be knowledgeable to make a sale. Pet supplies are also much cheaper elsewhere and free delivery is offered for no minimum amount.After this poor experience, I will be sure to let everyone I know about how the owners of Pet Mama treat their lowly workers. If you care about workers rights, I suggest shopping at another pet store. Someone who cares this little about a person can't possibly care much about animals.

Strolled into Pet Mama on a whim and, lo and behold, found the catnip of all pet food Toronto has been purr-sistently hiding! Bagged some kitty kibble, and now my cat's giving me the purrs that translate to 'More, please!' If there were a Catcademy Award for pet stores, Pet Mama would be the purr-ime winner.

Pet Mama has quickly become my go-to pet store in downtown Toronto. Their pet food selection is impressive, focusing on high-quality, organic, and locally sourced products that my pets love. The staff at Pet Mama are always friendly and knowledgeable, ready to assist with any queries or concerns. The store's location in downtown Toronto is convenient, making it easy for me to drop by and pick up what I need.

I have been shopping here since I moved into the neighbourhood nearly five years ago. I appreciate the kind and helpful staff, the great selection of high-quality products for my cat and most of all the home delivery that makes picking up a big bag of dry kibble much much easier for a city gal with no car.

Pet Mama has an amazing loyalty program where you actually earn $ easily from your accumulated purchases and every 12th bag of dry dog food you get is free, which is also a nice way to save. They really honor there same day deliveries and go above and beyond ordering stock if something is low and you need it. They also take your pets picture if you bring them in and jt goes on their wall, they add your name and dogs name so they greet you right at the door, and they have a water bowl and treats for every visit. I'd say the product selection as well for this small of a store is amazing. This is my go to spot for all my pet needs (except treats, wish they had more variety there).

We had a horrible experience with my puppy at this store. I bought a harness for my 4 months old puppy because her existing harness was too tight for her. The sales associate recommended a harness which costs 55 cad and shared that the harness is very durable. The harness lasted only for 1 day, and the store did not accept to exchange or refund the product next day indicating that the puppy chewed the product. The manager of the store is very unprofessional and she was not honest about the durability of the product. I will never purchase anything from this store again, and I am very disappointed with the lack of integrity and professionalism. I feel that my money was stolen by the owner of this store without providing any goods or services as I wouldn’t expect to pay 55 CAD for a harness which lasts only 1 day.Below response is a good indication of the lack of integrity of the store manager, as it does not admit the fact that the "durable" harness which they recommended lasted only for 1 day. They are not taking the accountability of the products they recommend and sell.The staff give treats while they are selling products and asking from customers to leave the store when exchanging/refunding items. The male sales representative literally asked me to leave the store when I tried to exchange the product. I have never been asked to leave a store before, and it is very rude for a man to treat like this to a woman.Extremely rude male staff, poor quality products, dishonest and unprofessional store manager.
