Did not show up for the scheduled pick up time, and the day after, that completely messed up my planning and caused a havoc. When addressed it, Steve, yelled at me and told me if I review them, he will not release my belongings. They would not answer our calls and if they would, they would yell and not answer our questions. They said our stuff will arrive in 2 weeks and it took 9 weeks. We had already rented the place based on their estimate, so we had to pay for two places for that period of time. It was living hell. Finally, we got our stuff most of furniture were broken and 20 boxes were missing. Please for your own sake do not trust them with your moveService: In-state moving

The Only reason i am giving one start is that I couldn’t give the review without rating it. So i had to give them a star. They don’t deserve any star. Extremely bad service and top of that pathetic people who are running this. Very rude. They humiliate you, torture you, use swearing words and many more pathetic things. I would never recommend smart way moving to my enemy either.

I moved with them and was quoted 2 weeks, the delivery took 2 months. I had 2 items damaged to the point that one is unusable. The delivery guy's left garbage in my yard when they left and I am not being reimbursed for the damaged items. Stay clear from them at all cost!

Do not use Smart Way!!! I hope to prevent anyone else from having to deal with a company that has such complete disregard for their own tagline of "Total Commitment to Quality Service".Smart Way is a dishonest, and very disrespectful company.Absolutely the worst customer service myself and my family have EVER had on both the shipping and receiving end. They gave a quote and then charged an outrageously higher price. They were elusive about when our belongings would actually arrive, and it took four weeks to arrive instead of the previously agreed-upon two. They were not forthcoming with any information about our belongings' whereabouts or delivery date. They demanded that we pay before receiving the belongings, so we were unable to see their condition until after we had paid (surprise - the boxes were completely battered). They said they would arrive for delivery between 9 and 10am, and at 10:30 when they had not arrived, we called, only to be told that they were delayed and would arrive in an hour (but didn't think they needed to call us to tell us this). They did not arrive until 1pm - a full FOUR HOURS after they said they would arrive. They will completely disregard your schedule. I called the office to raise my concerns, only to receive the worst customer service EVER - I was hung up on twice, and spoke to a David, who was incredibly rude to me. I am appalled that they are able to keep a business operating when this is how they treat their customers. I'm disappointed that I even have to give them one star in order for the review to be posted.

This is one of the most unprofessional moving company I have ever dealt with. 90% of my furniture had a damaged. One of my worst experience to deal with this company. David threatened to throw my furniture away and don't even have a customer service skills. I dealt with this moving company back in 2018 and was moving from AB to ON. First of all the furniture was almost new as I bought them in Alberta before my moving so there is no way that the furniture were damaged. I paid over $5000 for furniture. As for the claim. I asked for the claim they submitted and its been over a month. This review needs to be out and people should know who they are dealing with and make sure they are aware of the company's dealing and how they treat their customers. I sent them an email about my claims on March 20th and got a reply back on March 20th that they submitted the claims I sent them a followup email April 2nd no reply and then again on April 16 and got a reply back on April 17th saying it was declined as it stays under deductible and then I asked for the proof of my insurance claim and they never sent it to me till now. This company has no sense of responsibility. I was also over charged for my moving and lastly, I was told they would offer credit but nothing came out of that. I hope no one ever uses this moving company.

Used them back in August 2018. If we could give them negative 10 stars, we would.Their license to operate should be taken away. Besides breaking our furniture and crystal which were professionally packed, they had an accident on the highway, and demolished our bikes and tables. Company refused to answer our emails and calls and gave us no response. If you use them, I feel sorry for you. We have moved over 20 times over the years, and by far this company is the worst mover we used. Their owners should be caught and arrested and charged for fraud for taking people’s money and providing such dismal service (if you can call it that).

Sales man David is a fraud. If there was a negative star I would have given it to this company. If there is a negative five star I would have definitely given it to this company. Don't do the mistake of hiring this company for moving. *They will ruin each and every piece of your furniture. Period*.

Well hello all, like most of the reviews on here I to have had a bad interaction with David via email and phone call.Let's start..... first off we all did the same thing, we hired a company that offered a competitive rate and it's nice to save a few bucks when moving is so costly already. But heres where things take a turn and should have raised flags. One, I asked if they were part of the BBB(better business bureau) and of course it was a no. Second when I asked about weights and price it seemed to change every time we spoke. Thirdly, the day of pick up I was already across the country and had family members at my house showing the movers what to load. I had then been told that I was being charged another $400 for tape, boxes, and plastic wrap for around my sofa and chairs. Fine with the wrap for the sofa which was good, but charging $30 for tape??? $75 for a box for a tv that was suppose to protect it, and more money for boxes I did not need. Apparently they took stuff out and put it in to boxes to justify this. When asked about how they came abouts their prices on the tape and box they said it was because of the time it took the movers to wrap and box and tape things. Still cost me an additional $200. So my quote was for a one bedroom apartment which I was moving less then that as i drove across to BC with a truck load myself. When they came back with a weigh station is was so much higher then what their approximate rate suggests for a one bedroom. How come no one is allowed to view the weighing process?? So my bill went up from $900 to $1100 to in total $1870.I needed my stuff so I waited. 8 weeks, I slept on an air mattress for 8 weeks people. Had to purchase two leather chairs for my living room so I had something to sit in.Now the day of delivery was a treat. Don the hired mover I'm BC to bring my stuff was ok. He gave me a date and time 3-6pm which I was fine. They were 30 minutes late but I get it. Moves take time. When they arrived at my place I was told it was going to cost an additional $100 because they were walking along the side of the house through the side door and wanted cash. Said it was called extended movers fee. It was actually easier and just as close as the front door and avoided stairs for them. So things came in quickly and efficiently which was good, they gents were great. But..... and there is always a but they again asked for the $100. I told them I dont carry cash and only use debit or credit. The one mover said go check, I said really??? Like check my wallet?? I said I dont carry cash. And i had to open my wallet to prove it to him. I etransferred the money and just want to end the day.As the night went on I started to noticed damaged boxes, wet boxes, and missing boxes. As well it seemed that there were a bunch of boxes opened cause I had packed and taped my own boxes before they came but insisted they needed more tape.So all in all I was missing an expensive Krug furniture item, I had the drawers but no credenza which is a $2000 piece. Then figured out with my list of boxes I packed that i was missing 3. The funny part is the one that had a briefcase security case was one of the missing ones. I know what's in that case and it best be all in there if I get it back.So now I have emailed back smart way moving about all this with no responses. So I called and talked to a gentleman that was extremely rude and would not tell me his name. I had emailed the second individual from my past interactions with the company and told of what happened and he told me he felt better if I had my lawyer talk to him instead of me. So I waited and called back again and spoke with Sarah. Sarah was plain with her results. Said she would try and find my things and would email back, not call just email. So please people first thing first, use someone listed with the BBB and make sure your quotes and final weights are reasonable. Track all your stuff and keep an inventory. Read reviews and make a sound judgement, because the $600 they promised ended up costing me way more

I have never complained or expressed my dissatisfaction online. However; if I could prevent anyone from ever ever ever using this company, I will do so. From the beginning to end this company has been extremely unprofessional and verbally abusive. I've never seen a company, especially someone in the management team ( David and Michael) speak to customers is such a degrading demeaning manner. When I asked David for the owners or anyone above him contact information to express my dissatisfaction, he said quote" No, I'm the manager and that's all you need to know, I will not give you anything, do you call Rogers and ask to speak to the CEO). The items were not delivered still waiting and its been 4 weeks, he cancelled my delivery simply because he wanted to give me a hard time. I don't think a company like this should ever be in business if they have no respect for people. When I asked David if he treats all his customer like this he answered: " just the ones that I dislike and give me a headache". Rating is -100 not 1

Avoid at all costs. I didn't receive all my items and the large items I did receive were damaged and some destroyed. The company will avoid assisting in recovery for any damage or lost items. THey also will damage your house and tell you to put that through your insurance. STAY AWAY!
