Old Agness Store is a cozy, welcoming business offering an amazing food experience. The owners and staff are genuinely friendly, warm, and treat customers like old friends or family, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. The menu features famous, excellent, freshly-baked bread used to create sandwiches, served alongside delicious homemade soups. The tuna melt, made with a family recipe and local albacore on perfectly toasted house-baked bread, is repeatedly called the most amazing ever had. Bigger Better Burgers and items like Apple and Blueberry Crunches are also highlights. The store provides an array of other delicious goods. Fresh loaves of bread come out of the oven regularly, and there are many baked treats like decadent, yummy brownies, including spicy, mint, and coconut varieties. The best cheesy cornbread and homemade items like small batch jams, jellies, and barbecue sauces are available. For retail, there is a selection of wines, olives, hot sauces, local products like Agness tomatoes, and artisan items from local creameries. A significant feature is the dedicated gluten-free offering. The entire menu has gluten-free options prepared in special GF prep areas, with many GF retail items also sold. The food is so outstanding that you’d never know it was all gluten-free. Whether stopping in for a quick charcuterie board, a cup of soup, or a full meal, visitors leave with full bellies and full hearts, eager to return every chance they get. It is widely considered an absolute gem.
I walked in and they quickly made a charcuterie board within minutes for me. Such a nice atmosphere. So many delicious baked goods. Fresh loaves of bread coming out of the oven. Wines, olives, sauces. And Agness tomatoes! Very pleasant owners and staff. Thank you. I’ll be looking for Michele on her piano 🎹

An incredibly charming place. Stopped by here multiple times while I was staying in town to pick up hot sauce, bratwursts and other delights. Michele and Steve are SUCH great folks and I can't say enough about how welcoming and hospitable they are.
