I have had northwest with Rex and Rachael for years..Rex responds to me promptly with any issues or concerns. He is so busy but he definitely takes the time. When my rental was sold, he worked so hard, over and beyond to find my large family a home that we absolutely love. His secretary/ receptionist is so sweet, with smiles, is so welcoming to us..they both treat us like family..they treat us like we are important..I respect the fact they are so honest too. I would not want another management company. If anyone asks for my recommendation, the words would fly out of my mouth, “ northwest with Rex is the only one to go to!! They are reliable, honest, hardworking, and truly cares about their clients. They treat you like family!!. You won’t be sorry!!”…wow, what a team!!!

I have rented from Rex for almost 8 years now. I can say without a doubt that he is the best manager I have ever encountered and I feel so blessed to have rented from him for so long. Rachel in the office is always so friendly and talks to you like a real person instead of like just her job. I love this management company.

In my time renting here, I have had multiple maintenance issues that took 6 months or more to be addressed. This is not something I have ever experienced with any other rental company or landlord. Rachel in the office is extremely rude and unprofessional.

A very difficult company to deal with. Upon move in I had to clean the unit myself. Several areas of the carpet were covered in cat urine and required shampooing. I needed a place badly at the time so I moved in as quickly as possible and took care of it myself. I don't understand reviews on other platforms reporting quickly resolved maintenance issues as issues I reported in 2018 were just addressed this year (2022) and some are yet to be resolved. A large gap still remains under the front door that is big enough to allow slugs in regularly and lets a significant amount of heat/air out of the home. Attached you will find emails I sent in January regarding these repairs and I was told they would be put on a priority list. You will also find a follow-up email I had to send in June for the same request as it had not been taken care of. The excuse was that they were short staffed since May (four months after I sent the request) and I still paid the full rent amount the entire time. This includes days we did not have plumbing. I feel that I have been more than patient with them considering. I have always been a reliable tenant, taken good care my unit and never had a problem with any landlords in the past. Maintenance issues are generally resolved in a timely manner as they could become a liability to the owner. Rachel in the office however is rude, unprofessional and makes each interaction more difficult than it needs to be if she does not like you personally. This includes ignoring requests for maintenance and only being in contact when rent is due, not when you need assistance. She tried to issue late fees mid-pandemic in 2020 when it was illegal and I had to call the office and explain to her that there were protections in place which prevented this, something someone in her position should have been familiar with. She has also argued that I did not pay my rent when my payment was, in fact, waiting in the drop box outside the office that they designate for tenant payments. As an office manager, it should be a requirement for those things to be checked as eviction is a serious matter. I know the both of them, however, would be quick to issue a notice less than 24 hours after payment was due. They only perform the functions of their jobs which benefit them and not the tenant. I now feel that I need to find a new place to live as this company is constantly looking for ways to make things more difficult and I require a more reliable housing situation as I have a child in the home. While the actual owners of the unit have been more than kind and even leave us gift cards during the holidays, I have never experienced a property management team that is so unprofessional or unreliable. I truly hope this review helps any family that may read it as there are definitely better options in Albany.

Love the folks that work here! Always friendly, easy to work with and on time. They get repair requests done in a timely manner and communicate with you about the situation or status of the repair. For example, we didn't have a screen door on our sliding door, (the property was new to them as well as us so there were a couple minor details missed such as this) and I brought it to their attention and within a week and a half I had my screen door. It had to be assembled and all that, but they were in contact with me throughout the repair/replacement. Highly recommend them as a landlord/property manager!

Choosing Northwest Investment Management Services to manage my home as a rental is perhaps the worst decision I've ever made. I loved my home, and didn't want to sell after I got married. I thus decided to keep it as a rental. My first renter was wonderful. My second renter was letting the yard go. I thought a rental management company would help me ensure the house was kept in good condition. When I interviewed Rex, and told him how much the house meant to me, and how I was concerned that the yard was looking bad, I remember him telling me that he would make sure that I was proud of the house. In the 5-ish years that he managed the house, he did one walk through, and two inspections. The inspections were after neighbor complaints. Each time, I asked him how the house was, and he told me that everything looked fine. When the tenant finally moved out, we found: carpet soaked in urine, garage concrete soaked in urine, baseboard and molding chewed up, blinds chewed up, windows scratched, window screens ripped, about 1/4 inch of dog fur and dust on every surface, a shed stuffed with trash, mattresses and tires in the back yard, broken appliances, and more. In what universe would this be considered 'fine'?Edits, to add in new issues we've found, since working in the house:1) leaky roof in the garage. Not tenants fault, but should have been reported by tenant, so we could repair and avoid further damage.2) standing water in the garage must have been so bad, for so long, that the bottom of the washer and dryer have totally rusted out. Standing water was from washer hose, and not from.leaky roof.3) stove didn't work. Not tenant's fault . . . But wish I would have known about this as it happened, rather than having all repairs and bills hit at one time.

I have rented from Rex for over 6 years. I am a disabled construction worker(general contractor) now and have to give him a “cheers” for his responsiveness to repairs. The tenant in my unit before me really let some things go unmentioned. Repairs can be spendy and good help IS hard to find. Additionally, owners don’t always want to foot the bill to keep a home immaculate. During my stay as his tenant he has always responded swiftly to requests for repairs that needed to be addressed to limit further/additional damage and costs. I myself in an “unwillingness to give up effort” do my best to aid in the upkeep and improvement of my unit. I always say “try to leave it in better condition than you find it”. Thank you Rex.
