Do NOT buy the fruitcake.* The fruitcake at Basics is the typical travesty that gives fruitcake a bad name. Real fruitcake is made with candied fruit. Lots of it. Basics' contains mostly (much cheaper) raisins with a (very) few pieces of candied fruit scattered on top. It tastes just as dry and disgusting as every stereotypical, doorstop, re-gifted-each-year fruitcake you've ever read jokes about. It's too bad. With Costco no longer offering it's fabulous fruitcake (real fruitcake really is delicious, but expensive and difficult to find), I've yet to find an alternative that doesn't involve ordering from Texas. I was hoping Basics would fill that gap. But, what they're selling shouldn't even be labeled "fruitcake". It's raisin bread with some holiday decorations on top. Incredibly disappointing.*This review is for fruitcake only. For the most part, I enjoy Basics' offerings and their prices are reasonable given what you get and that they seem to treat their employees better financially than many grocers.

This is my favorite store, great owner & super great products! It's not a big chain store and the produce is over the top, also in the meat department, there is a lot of product that is from the owners own farm - beef and pork, etc. Try the Sage beef hotdogs from his Sage farm. They're over the top fabulous with no chemicals at all! It might be a little too expensive for some people, but you're paying for a fabulous quality and it's my favorite store!

Terrible service and out of control prices. I've been a customer for 4+ years and order meat here in bulk monthly. Only they don't feel like doing it anymore so they basically made up a lie about me "cursing out a employee " when I've never done such a thing. All I did was ask how the meat prices doubled from one month to another. If they don't feel like having you as a customer they WILL make up a lie about you and use that as a way to not serve you. Don't shop here.

Basics Market Bakery REALLY came through for me with a custom cake. It was exactly what I imagined and I didn't need to go to a specialty bakery and pay top dollar for a beautifully decorated cake! Thank you!!

On May 11, 2023 one vendor had Oregon grown strawberries that are very flavorful. A small but diverse group of friendly vendors. Not much produce on that date. Plenty of free paved parking.

Super great customer service, used a coupon I got when I walked In for $20 off $100 or more so that was helpful. It was definitely a little more expensive than chain stores but I was super happy with the selection and store size and set up plus the fantastic employees. I will definitely come here again, just in the future will buy simple basics like canned goods at a chain store since better deals on that and soda at other bigger chains. I was happy to find lots of NA options to drink for my husband. The ground Italian sausage we bought for spaghetti was ok, not my favorite, the garlic bread in the bakery was SO amazing, we will definitely come here for that, I think it was focassia garlic bread with cheese. The donut holes from the bakery were also amazing! So this will definitely be a store we go to often.

I have been wanting to give it a solid try out especially using their $10 off $50 coupons. They have coupons all over and every week with 10 off 50 or buy one get one certain things etc. I like knowing what stores local have to offer for specialty items, parties, gifts, picnic items or I have planned a whole thing around something random and cool I found at a specialty store. It is amusing that this is called Basics and that might be accurate. It is fancier Basics. Their prices on most things are pretty great although the meat is pretty spendy but tends towards the fancier arena. I grabbed nitrate free super fancy black forest bacon... But they have pate, duck liver mousse and an entire section to make the charcutier of your dreams at pretty great prices. I have never seen a ton of their offerings anywhere. I'm French so I can make a meal out of cheeses, meats and pretty jams, nuts and did I mention they have a great bread selection? I had never noticed English muffin BREAD - an actual loaf of bread! It is pretty delicious. They also carry Le Brea Bakery breads which are incredible. I will say if I host a brunch, I will definitely come here for some macaroons and pastries - they have a great bakery selection of a lot of lovely items - just add some OJ and champagne! I appreciate stores where I can grab some fresh broccoli rabe at a reasonable price and their potatoes are also fresh and well-priced. I can't fault you for spending a lot grabbing some over priced vegetable and fruits here because they are very fresh and displayed to where they will stay that way. The store in this location previously was known for charged three times the amount of anywhere else for rotten fruits and vegetables or severely battered and bruised items. I "dropped in" a few times to just grab some pears or something for a gathering and legitimately said a few times I forgot that their product person much be very violent and I wondered if they could maybe set things on the produce displays versus throwing them at it. Basics has a ton of really great items throughout the store though including honey with honeycomb, Quince jam and even a great party pack I was delighted to see since I will grab one when having a gathering in the future. It is chevre with fig jam - a delicious combination spread on bread. Pro tip - just get a wonderful cheese, even feta - add a fancy tasty jam over it and some breads, crackers ... party magic! This market is such a welcome addition to the neighborhood and I will definitely drop in here when I need some inspiration, food gifts or that special something which actually happens a lot. My only real critique is about the people at the store. They were not unfriendly but the security gent was clearly trying to stay busy bringing in carts etc but he was just always there and in a brightly lit store he came across awkward - I get being visible but it was more weird since it was towards closing with me and one other shopper so everywhere I was, he was. And when I went to check out the cashier was very nice but I am buying fancy groceries like wheat grass and specialty cheeses and meats. I also have a cane. She double bagged one of the bags and tried to fit everything in there with wheat grass in its very well container straight on top of everything with cardboard containers in two paper bags and because it was a wet centerpiece being squeezed - my entire bag of groceries was like negotiating with a wet sponge. Not the experience you want and even though its packaging that's wet it's just annoying spending a decent chunk to buy something that it effectively damaged especially when she did do a second bag which basically housed very little. I know some people specifically ask to have everything in one bag but I did not and there was not a line, they were not closing etc. I know customer service seems to not really be a thing anymore which is unfortunate.

Heads up, I would stop using "whatsgood" to allow pre-orders. It is impossible to sign up for their service because you need to turn off "autofill" when signing up. I turned off autofill on 4+ browers (edge, firefox, opera, chrome) and it still wont work.Get rid of "whatsgood" it is terrible.

Got a nice little brunch here. The bacon was fantastic and the pancakes were pretty good too. Unfortunately, they gave me chocolate chip instead of regular, so i didn't like quite as much but still pretty good. The sausage wasn't to my taste but I'll definitely be back for more bacon and pancakes. The coco loco power acai bowl was delicious. We didn't quite enjoy the chocolate syrup in it. It added more sugar but not great flavor. We would have preferred cocoa nibs or dark chocolate pieces.

Excellent meat department. The selection and quality is top notch and the prices are very reasonable. We recently have also purchased top notch peaches and broccolini here. Oh and did I mention they have merguez? I highly recommend the bavette, skirt, tenderloin, and my favorite is the hanger steak. They also have bulk Bins and I get ny dried chickpeas here.

Looks like the deli and meat counter will have lots of fun things to try. Produce was quality and selection of bulk and grains was everything we needed. I agree with what others have said so far. Time will tell how the place holds up but after my visit I could see myself coming again feels like Whole Foods or market of choice prices on par with that and better on some items.

Woopee! The new Basics Market is open! Stopped in for a quick walkthrough before work this morning. I had shopped the previous market at this location for 20+ years - so the layout is familiar. There is plenty of parking and it's easy to get in and out of the parking lot. First impression - Awesome! Clean, neat well organized and a helpful friendly staff. The produce section was well manicured and beautifully arranged. There are a couple of really nice bulk areas. Many of my favorites items and brands were stocked. So, bottom line is that I'm looking forward to doing my shopping here!Note: the bottle shop is not open just yet, but I was assured that it would be in the next few days.Quick Update. As of 5:15 this afternoon- they are starting to stock the beer shelves. Not a lot yet but good progress. I got a chance to talk to the Beer Curator (not sure of the proper title). They were knowledgeable, passionate and excited- the best of combination.
