Walter Beck was my tax "pro", but nothing he did resembled a "pro". I have been a faithful customer of H&R Block for the past 15 years, and now thanks to Walter Beck, I will No Longer be using H&R Block. I was a simple 1040 filing, and I thought this was going to be a simple text book filing. Walter managed to somehow get my Oregon state tax rejected, which forced me to paper file, and subjected my filing to fall into a verification process for suspicion of fraud! Still waiting for it, and was told it's a 16 week process. Walter also managed to apply his magic to my federal filing. My federal went through their fraud verification process as well. My federal ended up clearing pretty quickly, but not without Walter's incompetence still finding a way to ruin it all for me. Walter had my bank information incorrect, and now I am waiting for the irs to mail a paper check. Thank You Walter, your Professional touch managed to lose a longtime customer. Please do not risk your tax info with him.

I have been using H&R Block for 20 years, and have never once had an issue come up with the IRS or in any state I've filed. They offer every option of convenience with a completely online and secure tax preparation and communication system, while still retaining the in-person "white glove" service if you'd prefer. I will likely never use another firm to file my returns, and would highly recommend them to anyone.

We booked an appointment because we have difficult taxes this year and our tax “pro” had literally no idea what she was doing. She asked for mine and my wife’s marriage certificate, and her name change paperwork. She also asked us which one of us was the “MR.” In our relationship. She tried to tell us that the system wanted a reason we were filing jointly. She entered my wife’s middle name as her first name and her first name as her last name. She then told us that our return was too complicated for her. The complicated form was a document that showed my earnings from a lawsuit. She told us to go somewhere else cus she couldn’t help us. I am flabbergasted by the incompetence. I have worked for HR block before as a receptionist and had great faith in the company as all of my previous coworkers were amazing! I wouldn’t say to write off all HR blocks, but absolutely skip this one if you have anything more complicated than a single W2 and no middle name! I believe that her was Shending Butler, but I’m not 100% on that, when I looked her up on the website it says she has 14yrs experience and the person who helped us cannot have had that much experience
