We were staying in Jacksonville for our anniversary and visited the Lindsay Restaurant for dinner. The food was delicious and the staff was great. Definitely a highlight of our trip.

We were a party of three, dining at The Lindsay to celebrate my wife's birthday, We called in advance to let the restaurant know that she is vegan, and the chef, John, made her a special vegan curry dish, and she absolutely loved it. A second diner had the arugula salad and angel hair pasta with prawns, and she raved about both (saying she had never had prawns that were cooked so perfectly). I had the Gochujang Fried Chicken appetizer, and I don't think I've ever had tastier chicken wings in my life. We ended up with another order of those to take home. I also had the charred Casesar salad and the Lindsay burger (made with organic, grass-fed beef from nearby Plaisance Ranch), and they were both wonderful. Nothing on the menu seemed prosaic. There were so many choices that looked tempting, things I look forward to trying when we return. With delicious cocktails, great wines, and outstanding service (Katie was our server), this was a memorable dining experience. We highly recommend dining at The Lindsay!

Update: This is the half year anniversary of our wedding. As Oldyweds, it was a treat to come back in the late winter. What a great location! Minutes from some of the best wineries in the Applegate, this is the perfect spot for exploring the beauty of the Applegate valley. The river was running clear and quiet, the rooms are incredibly quiet as well. We stayed in the same room as last time, the Honeymoon/Vineyard. Right on the river. Once again the restaurant was superb-we had the salmon (my wife said the best she ever had) and I had a hamburger with fries on the first night. Both so good-the attention to detail and the care of the servers was fabulous. The next night we split the steak-divine. The wine list is the most local I've yet to come across-all of them from the Applegate AVA. The Lindsay Lodge and restaurant are wonderful. The lodge is full of beautiful wood and the rooms are spacious and right on the Applegate River. We stayed in the honeymoon room (Vineyard) which was not only the cleanest hotel room I've been in for ages, but the room was huge and the bathroom was also big. The rooms don't have TV which we saw as a bonus. The restaurant is superb! We ate there twice and had lovely seating next to the river. The food was very, very good as well. We will be back to stay next year on our anniversary and we will head back to the restaurant regularly. This is a beautiful getaway an hour from home but seemingly far from home. Give this a try for a quick getaway!Anna, the owner, does it all with style and grace. We felt like honored guests. We can't wait to return!Nearby activities: There are a huge amount of wineries in the local area. Some favorites: Crooked Barn, Quady, Red Lily, Walport family winery, Wooldridge, Rosella's. Each unique and fun. The scenery at each of these is incredible as well. There are many more but we ran out of time!

My wife and I stayed there in one of the rooms on the bottom floor. It was absolutely beautiful. The rooms were very luxurious and clean. The food was excellent and they were great hosts.

I always have low expectations for food in the Rogue Valley and we usually have to go to Ashland to find anything good. My husband had been wanting to try this place closer to our Jacksonville home since the new owners took over, but I figured it would just be more Sysco truck food. I am happy to say I was SO wrong! The place is gorgeous (right on the river) and the vibe is great. We had amazing focaccia bread with delicious spicy olive oil and two different salads, both great and with tasty homemade dressing. My salad had mint and cilantro, so different and good! My hubs had the steak (with kale, chimichurri, etc) and he could not stop raving about how perfectly it was done and how good the flavors were. I had the wild mushroom lasagna and it was full of gorgeous mushrooms. We also had an amazing pumpkin mousse with crumbly ginger cookies on top and a chocolate torte with a nice thick cookie crust and berry sauce, both delicious. Our server was attentive, fast, and so nice! It's obvious that these people care about the ambiance, the food, and the staff. Plus there is a resident cat, Smoky, who was on his pillow by the fire in the lodge and who let us pet and love on him as much as we wanted. We will be back and we will bring friends. We need to support the good food at this local gem!

Many missed opportunities here. We arrived in the dark. The entrance was not well lit and we kind of skidded into the driveway because 238 is a highway and nobody expects someone to be turning right into darkness! So, lightning in the entrance and parking lot was abysmal. There seems to be multiple restaurant entrances without one main entry. They really need to serve lunch as a preference to dinner because a 5pm dinner in November is with a dark view and very much a "meh" experience in a beautiful location. The burger patty was a commercial for. "Where's the beef?". Never seat an older couple having dinner next to a family with a small child who is spending the entire time playing on the floor. The small patio was closed off but would have been a great option to separate the dining areas. Entrees arrived before we finished our salads which was weird. The prices are very fine dining and the execution needs refinement. It would be worth revisiting the menu Gordon Ramsay left with this restaurant. It was far more accessible than the current menu.

Didn't stay at the lodge but went to the restaurant which was a real treasure. The food is excellent, fresh, local and totally yummy. Portions are large and prices are reasonable. We had the chicken sandwich and lamb shank special.

Not gonna lie pretty disappointed. 105 bucks for two meals a soda a drink and a appetizer. flat iron was tough was way under cooked. No steak sauce. Served w a large amount of kale and a few potatoes. Some mediocre chorizo. Heritage Pork chop was way fatty and really tough.. Im not gonna come back to say the least. This is the third chance this place has gotten from me.On top of this I got food poisoning from them!!!! Been sick for two days now!!

We just loved dining here. The food was excellent, and the wait staff were friendly and attentive. Finally, this place is living up to its full potential. There isn't a more beautiful location to be found in the Applegate Valley. Although we just came for brunch, we toured inside the lodge itself. It's very clean and cozy, and they now offer wine tasting packages. With 18 wineries so close, it's the perfect central location for a beautiful weekend getaway. The Lindsay is definitely at the top of our list for a delightful getaway or an unforgettable meal.

My husband & I love to explore lodges. This quaint lodge has an outstanding restaurant, too! We had a delectable meal with desert with cocktails. We started with the arugula salad with walnuts & beets which was perfect. So many times I have ordered this elsewhere & it was cold from the refridgerator. I had prawns with linguini & artichoke hearts. My husband very much enjoyed his flat iron steak prepared rare. We type of by sharing the NY style cheesecake with lemon curd. Sooooo good! I am a margarita lover, too. Their spicey version was outstanding! You must go & experience it!

The Lindsay is amazing! The outdoor restaurant deck overlooks the beautiful Applegate River...so relaxing! I have been to Sunday Brunch several times, and enjoyed the delicious BLT Eggs Benedict, and the juicy Lindsay Burger, made with locally sourced beef. The accompanying fries are tasty and unique! The wait staff were pleasant and attentive. The lodge is a beautiful log cabin style boutique hotel overlooking the river.Highly recommended!

Living in the Applegate, we do not have a lot of dining options. I have been to the Lindsay four times now… mostly because it is close to where I live. The menu tries too hard to be “artisanal” in food and in drinks. Both are over-spiced. I appreciate the sourcing of local ingredients but I think the restaurant and the bar would do better focusing on more basic, quality, home-style items. Please focus on the great local wines, offer quality but traditional cocktails, and entrees that are less ‘over the top’, with less spice, less salt and more basic Pacific Northwest offerings. Bottom line… Stop trying to overdo it.

So thrilled to see the new energy and life in this restaurant and lodge! Food was fantastic, the wait staff were attentive and kind and the new owners have a heart for serving and being the best. Check out the well appointed and user-friendly website and you will not be disappointed with your experience at the Lindsey. Truly the Jewel of the Applegate Valley!Mark and Theresa Wolter

Beyond words, the Lindsay Lodge is a magnificent place. Truly a place of splendor. I've lived in the valley for over 20 yrs, never having the pleasure of experiencing until last night. The food was incredibly delicious, I chose the salmon and couscous. It was Devine. My boyfriend and I stayed in the room called the logger. Elegant, that's all I can say. The room was open, had a balcony to enjoy the view of the river. Continuing inside, climbing up the stairs to the loft and greeted with a cozy bed . The room has a full size bathroom with hot tub.Outside, on the side of the parking, there is a beautiful area designed for any venue, weddings, parties, reunions, any occasion.Definitely a place that would be a shame to miss out on. Worth every sec, the best memorable moment I've encountered.
