Great little store for all your SOU gear. Lucky me, everything I bought was on sale! I got hoodies for my graduate and her mini-me(s).

This is a small bookstore compared to the other bigger Oregon Universities. However, that does not bother me. This bookstore has a lot of merchandise—but it can also be a little pricey. However, I like that they do have a lot of nice items on sale and I like that they have different payment options. I do feel the in-person bookstore has a lot more than online…but then again, I should understand that the current students should have first pick at clothing, hats, and materials they like. I just wish I lived closer so I can go to the bookstore randomly… as I do love the institution I graduated from. I know it may sound cliché, but I really did meet a lot of nice people here that I will never forget…and this is technically by definition, my second home. With that being said, I hope one day to maybe…if I am lucky…have a little vacation home in Ashland :)

I had a job interview in the area and they gave me a tour of campus as part of the interview, and I was pleasantly surprised at how compact this campus is. It's not a big school, and I got the sense from walking across campus, that many of the faculty and students knew each other as a result, which is a nice change from the really big universities. It's a very pretty campus.

The bookstore is not open to the public right now, but they were very accommodating in finding a way for me to buy the gifts I was looking for.

Just dropped our daughter off at SOU this past weekend. This is a great little university with great staff who actualyl take an interest in the students they serve. Evey single person we encountered over the past five days has been very nice, polite and genuinely intertested in solving problams and making things wor for the best of their students.

To “bee” or “not to bee” – an appropriate question for Ashland’s Shakespearean-themed city, and answered with a resounding YES! Not only is Ashland a certified “Bee City USA,” but the SOU campus is a certified “Bee Campus” – the first in the Nation (in 2015)! Now there are 96 “Bee Cities” in 27 states across the U.S., and 80 “Bee Campuses” in 32 states – “ensuring a better future for pollinators, communities & the planet” in “a movement transforming Our Nation, One Community at a Time.” And what a delight to stroll through the lovely campus at SOU! Numerous landscaped “islands” of pollinator habitats are filled with pollinator friendly plants like the showy red Salvia “Hot Lips” (Sage) which the honeybees passionately desired;” along with the profuse purple spires of Buddleia “Butterfly Bushes” which attracted numerous bees & butterflies to the tiny sweet florets. Did you know that in 2014, SOU also got a “Tree Campus USA Award?” There are over 100 different tree species – all labeled on plaques with codes that you can scan with your smartphone for more information. We were impressed that they even showcased a Coast Redwood – the “tallest tree on Earth, and one of the oldest living in the U.S.” (over 2,000 years)! Check the SOU website – Landscape Blog – for more details about SOU’s “Botanical Tour” and pollinator habitats. Also be sure to visit the Hannon Library – just spectacular, with extensive selections of journals & magazines, & inviting reading areas in comfy chairs that face huge windows overlooking the campus – so exquisitely & beautifully naturescaped for wildlife!

Stopped in to see the exhibit in the Art Museum on campus. Very creative works based on Science. Had interactive meditation exhibit which we liked. Lovely sculptures made from rocks. Small museum; students working in reception were very knowledgeable about the art and the artists.

You can shop online and pickup in store. There are discounts for students. The staff is friendly and frequently available throughout the turn. Just avoid the last week and first week of the term
