I too, did not have great luck with the Bakke CPA firm. I found fees to be a bit high (especially when I found out they didn't even use Excel, which makes things take way too long - literally they were using a paper ledger like in the dark ages) but more concerning was the fact that they agreed to an engagement then decided they no longer wanted to do it in August, leaving me to find a new firm at the last minute, undoubtedly costing me more to bring a new firm up to speed. All of this after sending 90% of the required docs. Part of the rationale they offered was that they prefer to do returns "in person" and suggested I find someone in my home town! Heard of Zoom? We haven't had an accountant in our hometown for 30 years. This firm simply hasn't evolved to the present day.
