Great care for our pets!

In the area on vacation and my dog needed to be seen. Astoria Animal Hospital was able to see him and we appreciated that, however it felt like the vet was searching for any way to add money services to our bill. She spent a lot of time looking through his shot records (which I always have on me). She kept asking about each shot he should have (which he does) instead of really addressing the reason we brought him in (she didn’t know what the hard knot on his jaw was). She informed me that his flea collar wouldn’t prevent heart worm to which I told her I knew that and that we have him on heart worm meds (which I put in his paperwork when I did his registration). I can appreciate the thoroughness of the exam but in the end I left with no real conclusion about the knot on his jaw but confirmation that he was up to date on all his shots and preventative meds.

Great place for appointments as it has a calm and quiet atmosphere.
You pay a little more but for the sanity of your possibly sick or stressed animal with appointment timing, it’s fair. For emergencies I use Columbia Vet but for regular or predictable visits, this clinic.

This vet is literal definition of highway robbery. They need to feel ashamed for themselves for what they're doing. To people they claim they care about animals and want to help. But all they care about is money there fee to nuder a young cat is $395 and that does not include a 55 dollar new patient fee and whatever there mandatory fee is for vaccines, the vet down the road charges 95 dollars for the same procedures again whoever made that price is a complete scumbag smh what a terrible vet

I took my dog here to get her lip fixed as she got in an accident with a rat. We went through the surgery, but the material she used for the sutures was way too thick, and having a small dog the sutures just came out(even though she had an E-collar on) She didn't say much when I brought her back in, redid the surgery and charged me twice which shouldn't have happened if she was more competent as a veterinarian. It also seemed setup.

Jennifer is great with my dog, even if he doesn’t like strangers or new dogs. She always educates me and my husband so we are giving him the best care we can as well, and you can tell she really cares for the animals she treats. Thank you for being good at what you do!

The doctors are extremely thorough. They sat me down and explained everything (in detail) about the different vaccines for my dog.They also reviewed with me flea/tick medications.Before paying for my visit, they gave me a low and high estimate on the cost of the different vaccines and flea/tick medications.It was very helpful in the deciding factor on his heartworm prevention plan and which flea/tick medications I would purchase.

The techs are friendly, competent, & handled my cat extremely well - putting both of us at ease. The Doctor is knowledgeable & also very nice, every time I've brought my baby in with an issue it was diagnosed &/or treated promptly and correctly.

Very upsetting to hear how my friends were treated here. If your policy is first car to arrive is the first served you SHOULD POST ON YOUR DOOR! If I stand outside any doors when they open and I’m first in I should be first served that’s STANDARD PROCEDURE! You allow your local friends to call you and complain about “line cutting” and then shame a new person in front of the entire waiting room that’s trying to get help for there dying animal that by the way was their 2nd day coming up to get help. I will never recommend this place. What a shame!!!
