City Lumber Company is the oldest hardware store in the state and a go-to destination for building advice, great service, and a helpful staff. Customers find the employees, who also own the place, super helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, and readily available. The business carries a great selection of tools, hardware, lumber, many specialty repair items, and gardening supplies, including plants and herbs. Their selection is perfect for a smaller, much more attentive outfit, and they offer services like custom cutting lumber and delivering garden supplies. Prices are fair, and the staff is known for treating everyone well, knowing customers by name, and helping them save money. The unassuming and awesome local business is highly recommended.

City lumber opened in 1904 as the City Lumber and Box Company, making it the oldest lumberyard in Oregon. I didn't get here until 1974 and have been shopping here ever since they've never let me down yet, there are always happy to help to get the job done.
