Front staff is incredibly rude!!!! My experience was not good either time I've been there! The 1st time I was told to come back after lunch, after waiting in line 3 hours and driving two hours, when I came back I was told I needed to come back on another day. Dr. Rob was confusing, unconventional and rather strange. I will never go back. I highly recommend Valley Veterinarian in Rainier Oregon, very kind, caring, and professional. They spayed my mini aussie and I've been very happy with their care!

Yes they're busy. No you can't get an appointment for anything other than surgery. They're also extremely well versed, very reasonable, and they do everything the can to get you in and save you money. I come from an hour+ away to use these vets.

I think they are working very hard to help with the population not being supportive by other hospitals. We showed up at 8 am and we were 12 in line and looking at after 1 pm already. We ended up at Safe Harbor and they were able to fit us in with our 5 month old puppy who we thought had a dislocated elbow.

It is with regret that I will no longer use Columbia Vet Hospital in Astoria OR. After 13 years of service, we have seen a decline in patient management starting even before Covid. They always provided good medicine at a reasonable costs, but they cannot serve the whole north coast. Their business model is based on first come first served. Operations were scheduled. A few months back I waited 5 hours and they lost my data card. I saw my card in the cue and then it was gone? Today I showed up, after a 4 week wait, for a teeth cleaning appointment and they had no record of the appointment. They took me grudgingly but kept saying I had no appointment. Clearly, the staff is overtaxed. The community has built such a reliance on Columbia, perhaps unfairly these days, but with customer service now awful, they must find a way to manage their popularity. Pets are now a real luxury, and yet they are so important to us that we will miss a few meals to keep them healthy. Dr. Goza's legacy just couldn't adjust to the times. The whole area no longer has emergency vet service where all of the local vets take a turn and charge a premium for the service. Shame on the bunch of them.

Columbia Veterinary Hospital took great care of our family cat. They are kind caring people that provide excellent customer service and an efficiently run clinic. I would recommend them very highly. Thanks Dr. Z!!

Would also second - choose your Veterinarian as to who works on your pet. I would NOT recommend Zedwick. My elderly Chihuahua went in perfectly healthy, had per-anesthetic blood work done prior to his dental (one tooth to be removed) and a week later he was dead due to acute kidney failure. She was rushed, did not support with him with IV fluids and discharged him without giving any feedback on the procedure. When I advised her he had died, which was directly caused by the dental, I was flippantly told well, he was old. She did not take any responsibility by acknowledging she was rushed, due to "an emergency" and had not taken due care by starting his procedure at 2:30 p.m. with a "I'll quickly knock him down" response on the phone when calling for an update. My dog died needlessly. Yes, there is risk in any surgery, but his risk was quadrupled by a narcissistic outlook of the Vet. My regular Vet, who had just pulled stellar blood work a couple of weeks before his death even called, as she was stunned, knowing my dog was totally healthy, including the day of the procedure.

Even though the waiting in line so early in the morning is difficult, Columbia vet truly saved my sanity and helped my dog get out of the pain she was in. The staff are polite and kind and cared for my girl who injured her ear and got her in better shape after a night of suffering because no 24-hour vets were taking patients in Portland the night before. They were also extremely affordable. I was expecting 3-4 times what I paid. Bottom line is it's a great practice that exceeded my expectations, and they will get nothing but praise for me for helping my little old lady out and making her feel better.

Do not remember the name of the young lady who was the vet who saw my Kai today, but I want to thank her for being so kind and gentle. Everyone at this office from the person at the front desk to the other staff are wonderful, loving people. Thank you!

I don't usually write reviews but when I went hone from this vet office today, I feeling much better about my pet's situation and I was treated very kindly. My wallet was not impacted because they are fantastic at keeping their prices more than fair! My first time there, did not catch everyone's names but Dr. Rob is wonderful! Thanks so much!

Best place on the NW Coast of Oregon. we travel hours away just to come here. It's comforting to know there are multiple Veterinarians there at a time due to combined knowledge. The front desk people are so nice and patient with patients. When we are bringing our pets in to see the doctor we are at our highest anxiety. They are always comforting and kind. Quality care and never had a pet leaving without improved healing and health.

Interesting 1st come 1st serve system here. The line starts forming before 7am. It was really important for us to be seen when we did, so I'm very grateful for this veterinary hospital

I'd like the owners to be aware of some of the horrible things I witnessed while at this clinic. I went in to use the restroom and there was a family in one of the rooms putting their animal down and one of the employees in the back said "geeze they're like hyperventilating crying in there" the other employee said "are they really" in a chuckling voice. The other employee told one of the techs they were kissing their "dead dog" which she replied with "that's disgusting.. gross" Putting a member of the family down is a tragic thing to go through. And people should be able to grieve in anyway they need without being concerned if staff is judging or mocking them.

I believe they killed my dog. Possibly through misdiagnosis, mixing of meds, overdose who knows. The dog was in for vomiting and not eating . they said she tested positive for lepto and high liver numbers. Treated her but no improvement. I brought back 2 days later and they kept her then entire day giving her numerous meds. she was in fair shape when i dropped her off but not the same dog when i picked her up. She died on my living room floor that night. I have learned a very painful lesson and am heartbroken. the vet never talked to me about any of this.
