I have A LOT to say about Labor Temple Diner & Bar, so brace yourself! We were visiting from Reno, NV, and found this spot online the morning after we got engaged. First, the food was so good! You can't go wrong with any of the breakfast selections, and the "basic" coffee was delicious. I'm only bummed that I didn't see that they had a Monte Cristo as a special until after I was already eating. I would've loved to have seen their take on that. The entire staff was so incredibly friendly and nice! We were talking to them all about visiting Astoria, and they recommended a few places to check out, including the Astoria Column (which we would've entirely missed otherwise). We had such a great time that my fiance purchased a super cool mug to mark the whole experience. Perfection. But that's not all...That night, when we were getting into our next stop Portland, that mug fell and broke while we were bringing everything into our Vrbo studio apartment. My fiance was devastated.I called Labor Temple the next morning and explained what happened. The employee on the phone told me she would talk to the manager after I asked if I could pay for them to mail us a new one. Within a day or two, the manager and I were texting about details. I was so excited!Last week, the mug (safely bubble wrapped) arrived at our Reno home. I texted the manager to thank him, tell him how surprised and excited my fiance is, and ask how much I owed. Still no reply to that text. But whether I never get a response or I eventually get a response about whatever amount to pay them, it would be a travesty for me not to sing their praises from the top of an (online) mountain. This is a small business you NEED to visit in Astoria...for the people you'll meet, for the great atmosphere, for the delicious food. If you're still reading this review, you need to set down your phone or close your computer and head over there. Seriously. They are the definition of everything a small business should be.Just don't be clumsy like us and break an awesome branded mug while traveling. ?

Good food, good and friendly service. Kitchen sink omelet is delicious and the fresh fruit was ripe and good.

As appearances go, this is a bit of an outdated restaurant/pub but the burgers are fantastic. They stick to the basics and nail them. Try there bacon cheeseburger - delish. Fries were extra crispy on the outside and still fluffy in the inside.

The food was to be expected.I got there before the crowd arrived. I had to get the attention of the bartender/waitress to ask if I could sit up at the bar. She nodded yes. The primary waitress took longer than what it should have taken to take my order, and that was the last I heard from her. I had to get napkins for myself, flag down the dishwasher guy (who I think might have been the owner), but was helping deliver food and coffee and ask him for a coffee top off. I had to flag him down again to pay. Omelet, a mimosa and a coffee .... $26.

Good food and plenty of it. No falderal. Read the menu, order the chow, eat the food, pay the bill.

Showed up a few minutes after opening time for breakfast to an annoyed worker opening the front door late. Was seated and our waitress was visibly barely awake. Then we over heard the employee who opened the door say to other patrons, "Just because I open the door, doesn't mean you can come in." Wildly inappropriate thing to say out loud or even have that mindset in customer service. He and the waitress then went out front to argue with one another and smoke in front of the entrance. At least the food was good even if it was cooked with hatred.

very disappointing breakfast. I had sausage and gravy. came straight from a can. looked like glue. tasted like four and pepper. 2 bites were too many. on a brighter note the side of potatoes I ordered were better. but not good enough to overcome the gravy

Now the Labor Temple has been here for a good long time. The food here is pretty much good every time we've eaten here. Service is spot on too they're gone keep you in coffee if'n that's your thing. I'd recommend putting their sausage gravy on your hash browns or your French toast too its that good! Best sides it messes with those Frenchman folks! I've been eating Chicken fried steaks all over the country but this one is packed with flavor I don't understand why they give you a steak knife the bugger is fork tender! The Labor Temple is a good place for anyone looking for good food service and a bartender who can make you feel good and at home. It's clean but old fashioned inside but don't count on getting in when the 503's flocks to town cuz there's a line!

Still one of the best spots in town to get over a hangover (or to get one).Breakfast is hearty, but not complicated. Eggs, biscuits, pancakes, and of course crispy bacon. The hash browns are solid too. And if you need a little hair of the dog, the bar is your friend.Speaking of the bar, it's more than just drinks and bar food. They have a big back room where locals gather for trivia, karaoke, and music.
