Safeway is a clean, busy, and well-stocked coastal grocery store in Astoria. It is described as one of the nicest locations, with a well-organized layout. The store is well-staffed by associates who are generally friendly, helpful, cheerful, and polite. It offers a full range of services including a pharmacy, bakery, deli, and butcher block with meat, seafood, and sushi. Customers can use Grocery Delivery, DriveUp & Go™, and online Order Ahead services. The store is adjacent to the East Astoria Boat Ramp, and sea lions can be heard from the parking lot. Some negative points include an unmaintained building exterior with overgrown landscaping and burned-out lights, an always-dirty bathroom, and occasionally iffy produce. Some staff in the deli have been noted as insufferable. Despite some upkeep issues, it is considered preferable to other local stores.
Prices are too high but that's the same everywhere these days.

Popped into this Safeway on the hunt for cherries while on a big road trip. Found my cherries right as I walked in with a great deal going. Pretty nice and clean Safeway up here in the great Northwest!
