You’d probably say to yourself, as someone who isn’t a fan of seafood, this probably isn’t the place for you. That’s what I thought too!I was wrong. The food here is really good, so much so that even I was into it. Not just idly, either, we had to scrap for the crab cakes. Do yourself a favor and give this place a go, even if you’re only marginally curious about the fare—it’ll sell you. Well done y’all.

So dang good. First time here and everything we had was delicious. Oyster Shooters, Calamari and Crab on Indian Fry Bread, all were incredible.Recommend doing the Crab Fry Bread half and half with the two flavor options, both were delicious and unique.Service was good but you do have to order at the counter. Didn’t realize beers were in can when we ordered, would have preferred draft.Overall good experience and will definitely be back.

When you ask a local in Astoria where to eat, South Bay is usually near the top of the list. They're not your usual fried seafood joint. There's greater creative effort here. And while they don't offer a waterfront view, you'll still find a warm and comforting vibe that may explain the line at the door to get in. We chose a quiet afternoon when we could get two seats at a very long, communal table, have the place almost to ourselves, and talk with the staff. Seems they really care, so there's another reason for that long line. Yes, you should go.

I had the smoked tuna melt with a salad and the lemon vinaigrette was delicious to start of, but that tuna melt? That melt was bussin! I highly recommend this place for those who enjoy some bomb seafood! Nice little seating arrangement inside as well the artwork and photos on the wall give your mind a place to wander….. imagine…. Thanks for the bomb experience.

STOP! READ THIS REVIEW. I TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR EVERYTHING I HAVE TO SAY HERE!South Bay Wild Fish House is ON POINT! Folks - I don't care if you have to wait... just be patient and wait for a table! We got the joy of sitting in the loft... the service and bar were fantastic! The waitress was so nice and kind. They were super responsive, took our order, and got to steppin'. Drinks were appropriately strong and priced.Food was delicious! The Tuna Tartare was WONDERFUL! All Tuna Tartare should be served with chips! The salad was absolutely wonderful - I loved every minute of it. The upbeat ambiance and décor was a perfect setting and we would absolutely do it again!Vegetarian options: Plenty!Dietary restrictions: Plenty of options for everyone
