The staff ashore in Astoria were very helpful. They had maps, brochures, pamphlets, and other information readily available for everyone getting disembarking.

The whole package for me was just something special. At my age an condition I am just happy to be alive. St this point of my life I use a wheel chair, canes an a arm of some polite people. Would you like to see a few goodies from my collections, ? I loved to collect an I have a great deal of goods. You would never believe what I have had. Run thru my fingers...jim

When we got off our ship we were told we could wait for a taxi (at the small stand there) but there were 4,000 people on the ship and only 8 taxis in town. I said I'd call an Uber and they told me there ARE no Ubers in Astoria. So I went behind the taxi stand and called an Uber which came immediately. ? I then proceeded to tell every business I stopped at that they do indeed have Uber. No one had called because they were all told there were none. Left a bad taste in my mouth for the tourism industry in the town. They have a lovely coffee shop in town that makes to order delicious fresh out of the oven personal quiches and fantastic coffee & tea drinks. There's also a little discount store to buy zip lock bags, little grooming items, etc. at discounted prices. It looks like the town has seen better days. But "Five Zero Trees" & the coffee shop, "Street 14 Cafe" are thriving. They both make a very nice presentation and the customer service is beyond reproach. I highly recommend both!

Typical Bouy 10 mad house. Marina staff did everything they could to accommodate each and every boat. Bit high on fuel price at $5.60 a gallon for regular as La Push being $4.60 and Kalama being $4.09. Watch out for the Sea Gulls that might camp on your boat.
