My son’s car broke down just outside of north powder, his car was towed to Paul’s automotive shop. They were so friendly and did a great job of fixing my son’s car and now he is currently on the road headed to college. Would recommend them to anyone. Friendly, fast, and did great honest work. Very fair prices also. Thanks.

Randy and his team were incredibly kind to me and my daughter. Our transmission blew outside of Baker City on our trip to take her to college. We were 6 hours from home and 6 hours from her school at 4 PM on a Friday. They helped diagnose what was wrong, make arrangements for towing and figure out our overnight plans since we were stuck. If I was local, I wouldn’t go anywhere else for service.

I ran into car problems as I was traveling and pulled into Paul’s transmission and auto repair at 4:45 pm. Feeling desperate. Bobby and James immediately came to see what I needed, using a tester to identify the codes. They then test drove my car, it died on them and they towed it back to the shop for me, explained the problem and gave me an idea how to deal with the issues, as they talked about parts, time, and possible cost. What stood out to me was that they never seemed inconvenienced, and was thinking of the best option for my situation and time, offered me a loaner car for the night so I could get a hotel and then see them in the morning, keeping them after close. This shops customer service from Bobby and James is outstanding and you just don’t see people go out of their way to help you in todays world, I would like you to know you were angels to me in that moment, and thank you from the bottom of my heart ♥️ shop manager said I didn’t owe anything after deciding to have my husband pick me up and tow vehicle home to be repaired at my convenience. Do they even know what a God send they were? I had mentioned what happened at the hotel and a place to eat, and the feed back was…Yes Paul’s is the best! I couldn’t agree more.

We couldn't be happier with our repair. They went above and beyond to get us back on the road after our fuel pump went out on our camper. They gave us a car to drive so we could go and explore while the repairs were done. 5 stars is really not enough. Thank you so much for all you did to get us back on the road. We are truly appreciate all you did.

Recently while traveling through the area on I-84 my RV ran into some transmission issues. I had contacted other shops in town, yet no one could get me in right away; two week wait at earliest. After contacting Paul's transmission, Hunter and owner Randy squeezed me into their filled schedule to get me back on the road within a day. Hunter did a great job taking care of the rig, along with some helpful knowledge on the side. Great thanks to both of them! Would highly recommend Paul's Transmission & Auto Repair to anyone.

My sister had car trouble traveling through the area. Hunter got her fixed up with a car to use while her car was getting fixed. Had the car fixed and was great about helping her get back on her trip as soon as possible. Awesome service!! Thank you so much for just being a good,honest buisness!!!

My young daughter’s car overheated just outside of Baker City. My husband had just changed the thermostat and coolant reservoir before her trip. One call to Paul’s, and Randy was so helpful! She limped her car there and they got her in right away. They needed a part that wouldn’t be there until morning - a parents nightmare? - but they lent her a vehicle and recommended a safe hotel that had a restaurant on site. She was fixed up and on the road by 9:30 am and we are so grateful ??

I had an issue with a low beam headlight and the gentleman at this shop found a work around that was affordable. It could've been a costly repair but instead it fit into my vacation budget. The problem was fixed as promised and I could not be happier. I was back on the road in an hour. Its hard to find a shop you can trust to give you the best deal. Big Thanks!

Our car broke down on the highway on the way from Portland to Idaho. We needed to get towed to a mechanic and everyone we called in La Grande and Baker City were fully booked. We called Paul's and they told us to come right in. They immediately diagnosed the car's problem. It was not what we wanted to hear, but the team helped us figure out a way to get our car back to Portland. They were incredibly helpful, kind, and quick. Would highly recommend, but hopefully won't have to be back ;)

on a road trip to washington, found out an o2 sensor needed replaced and so we came here and we were in and out in 30 mins and we were not charged a thing! such an amazing place!

These guys are totally awesome - came in with a bit of an emergency and they went right to action and checked out several things until they found finally what they needed to fix and FIXED IT!
We were tourist coming through and they treated us supremely well. If you ever need something done in Baker Idaho, look for Paul’s Transmission !

Randy listened to my situation as a traveler with break problems. He provided instructions then told me my truck would be first. His mechanic Hunter was awesome and also very professional. They opened at 0800 I was on the road by 1040. They replaced both rear brakes because one seized and the burned up the pads. Well done. Very nice and kind staff. Thank you Randy for helping a weary traveler and caring enough to do something about it. Well done
