I am simply dazzled by the quality of our new deck. The craftsmanship stands out in a deck and stairway that required significant extra attention. With our house on a hill and the deck 18 feet above ground, the city required both a Geo Tech and a Structural Engineer to be involved. The old deck had some rot and was too small. This deck is larger and thanks to being made of Trex, won't rot. Dave was easy to reach and communicate with as he supervised the project. Pancho led the builders including Carlos and Justin. All of them worked long hard hours, sometimes in the cold spring rain.At the last minute we discovered rot in the large crawlspace basement wall caused by poor mounting of the previous deck. We added that fix to the project too, also done with great care.Their price was in the middle of three bids. I could tell Three Rivers knew the ins and outs (Compared to one bidder who thought permits were issued by the county. Um, no.)We had one glitch at the end that required additional engineering. Three Rivers added the modification gracefully in a way you'd think the deck was always designed with those extra supports.I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Could not be happier with our patio cover completed by Three Rivers. Not only was the end product beautiful in every detail, but working with Three Rivers was professional all the way through. We highly recommend them and would use them again. Thanks Three Rivers, we love our new addition to our patio.

I’m am a professional woodworker by trade and I am very uneasy about trusting other craftsmen to put the same effort into their work as I do mine. That said, I was wildly impressed by the crew that built my deck. It was an unusual build too. Small, but elevated with a sunken hot tub. The fit and finish was better than I could have done myself. They spent excess time on aspects I likely would have never noticed, but did make a difference in the end. Engineering was impressive as well. I had a few small requests through the project that they didn’t nickel and dime me on as well. Which was refreshing. The only part that could have been better was the design/drawing process. Not a big deal, just not as good as the construction itself.

We are very pleased with the work that Three Rivers did for us and the deck turned out great. There were some hurdles in communication transitioning from sales to the builders but Dave did an outstanding job laying everything out and working towards solutions we were happy with. We'd highly recommend them for anyone looking at a deck project.

As a retired civil engineer with over 40 years experience, I’ve seen many construction projects. I know quality in workmanship and integrity in service. Three Rivers is at the top in both areas. My wife and I were impressed at the care and level of detail exercised by Matt when he came to do an estimate. We were pleased when we saw that estimate. Blanca was kind enough to hand deliver the samples to our doorstep. Three Rivers worked with us to schedule around our commitments and followed through with us us once the work was scheduled. They were always there when they said they would be, worked through without delays, and made sure the area was kept clean. Final cleanup was excellent. Our deck is beautiful! We’re glad we had it done and look forward to many years of service thanks to the work of Dave, Joe, Jesse and Edgar.

Three Rivers replaced my second story deck off my kitchen in Lake Oswego. They did a great job, working in some really lousy weather. I would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again.

Three Rivers built our new side deck this past summer, and we love it. They did a great job with some tricky landscape, and gave us a great product. If possible, I might dock them a half star for communication, which was somewhat lacking at points in the project. Thankfully I was able to stay on top of it, and we are very happy with the deck.Service: Deck installation

We pickled 3 Rivers after a careful review and interview. It was a particularly fortuitus choice as the project was complex, challenging, and artistically demanding involving about 1500 sq footage of decking on three levels with difficult footage and elevations. The 3 Rivers team was up to the task. The resulting deck is stunning with a wide open view of the lake and coordinated colors of decking and house. Very pleased with the quality of the installation/build team and firm management oversight.

Three Rivers Custom Decks provided high quality service at a competitive price. The work commenced in a timely manner, and I was kept well informed of the schedule. My deck is on a second story and there was a beautiful tree right smack in their way. Joe, Edgar, and Dave worked around and preserved the tree in its entirety. Also I told them that my father had done some work on my previous deck and the job foreman, Joe, very kindly saved a piece of my fathers work - it meant a lot to me. The job was completed on schedule. A new deck is a great investment in your home, and with composite, it's so nice not to have to hassle with staining and/or peeling paint. A new composite deck was a big investment, but very well worth it. I love my new deck and highly recommend Three Rivers Custom Decks. Mary Jo C.West Linn, Oregon

After shopping around and getting quotes from a few deck companies, we decided on Three Rivers Custom Decks. Every time we phoned/emailed the office, Blanca was very friendly, informative and responsive. Matt came out with samples, provided information on how the process would work and what to expect. We decided on a Timbertech deck to replace our existing wood deck and added a much wanted pergola to our cement patio.Dave and his crew, Dawson and Brad were awesome! Dave was very communicative and answered our questions, checking in on the progress, bringing supplies and picking up items to be hauled away. Dawson and Brad worked hard everyday on building the deck, then painting and building the pergola. The work area was cleaned up daily before they left for the day and upon final completion. Dave did the final walk-thru and we let him know that we were totally satisfied, everyone was very professional and easy to work with. We have already had a few neighbors come over to see what our deck and pergola look like and they were impressed. We would highly recommend Three Rivers Custom Decks! They may not be the most inexpensive bid you will get, but we felt they were definitely worth the money.

We've had a surprisingly disappointing experience with Three Rivers given the ratings they've received here and elsewhere. They were the most expensive of the four bids we sought, but we chose them based on their reviews and because they would utilize poured concrete footers and galvanized metal liners for the integrated planters in our deck plan. Communication at the outset was very good but quickly dwindled once work commenced, and communication is key as we are people with jobs who had to coordinate our schedules to accommodate their work. For example, on just day 2 when we were told the crew would be coming back to complete some demolition work on the existing patio, no one showed up, and when we reached out we were told that the demo contractor's work was completed so they hadn't planned on returning, contradicting what we were told.Nonetheless we were excited to see construction unfold. We were assured that due to the complexity of design, they had assigned their best worker on the job. The crew was honest about not having cut the prior concrete patio sufficiently to meet the original design specs, and to their credit, they were giving us an extra foot of deck width (to sufficiently clear the patio) at no extra cost. That was nice. However, to the plain eye it was clear that the framing of the deck wasn't square (see photos), and when I asked why this was, I was told that there was a deformity/bowing in the concrete foundation of the house that was the cause. Absolute hogwash--the house is a new build, and there's absolutely nothing to suggest the foundation isn't straight or square (again, see photos). And of course they did not offer to rectify it. In retrospect, we should have insisted on it for the money we paid. Even if we pretend the home builders didn't make the house square (really??), shouldn't a 5-star decking company be able to easily adjust their construction to compensate??Despite having their best worker on the job (and though we found him to be a hard worker and very nice person), there were numerous issues with fit and finish (see photos). Fascia corners were too often poorly aligned, and several deck boards were cut too short. There was noticeable bowing of the high-end PVC deck boards despite being assured they wouldn't do this. And both fascia and deck boards and railing cables have come loose in places, which we sought to remedy through a warranty claim. We understand settling happens, but the initial fit and finish was not close to commensurate with the money we paid.During the warranty claim process, I submitted a message with requested photos of the problematic areas on Thursday, June 1. I received a message the following Monday (June 5) that their assigned crew member would be in touch by the end of the week to schedule an on-site evaluation. Fast forward two full weeks to Monday, June 19, and there's been zero communication about the status of our project. I shoot off an email inquiring and receive a reply Thursday, June 22 (three days later), that the crew member's truck had broken down and was getting fixed. Okay, stuff happens, but why was there no communication about this for two weeks until I finally had to reach out? So they set a visit for Wednesday, June 28, between 12-1pm. I say fine, but please have the crew member text my wife on the day of the visit when he has a clearer sense of his ETA, since we have a baby and want to work around his naptimes with as little disturbance as possible. "Will do!" was the emailed response. June 28 comes, and no one arrives, texts, calls, or emails. My wife would have wanted to have gotten the assessment out of the way AS SCHEDULED and be able to run some errands, but she felt compelled to postpone them in case the crew showed up late. By late afternoon I'm fuming, and I send a firm message inquiring about the no-show and making clear that we're not happy with the repeated pattern of poor/lack of communication and outright flakiness. The next day, we're again told

Great experience having my two cedar decks rebuilt with composite. Every one that worked on the project was punctual, knowledgeable, and an artist in their trade. The finished decks are absolutely gorgeous. I obtained several estimates and couldn't be happier with Three Rivers Custom Decks.

Three Rivers was great to work with from start to finish. We replaced an elevated deck at our home. The deck had a lot of challenging design and construction details, and they made it happen. The crew was hard working, respectful, and dedicated to delivering a nice finished product. Every step of the way I felt like their main priority was to deliver the vision I had at bid time. Three Rivers is a top notch contractor.Services: Deck installation

Three Rivers did a deck replacement for us after a very large tree fell on the deck during a storm several years ago. Our slope is extremely steep so the job was not easy. It involved hiring a structural and a geotech engineer and coordination with another firm that installed pilings and erosion control fabric and gravel. A number of contractors were intimidated by the slope and the technical aspects of the job. Three Rivers did excellent work. The deck is beautiful and will last for decades to come!Service: Deck replacement
