The process has been nothing but a hassle, so many cars with accidents and recalls, the prices are not fair and the buying process is a headache. Why can't it all be done online?

Too many intrusive question just to find out info on the Car. Flew from Oakland to Portland to buy the Car and waited over an hour for CarMax to finish their paperwork, unprepared and inefficient.

i absolutely loathe salesmen, with a passion few mortals could ever hope to comprehend. CarMax was wonderful for me, i did 95% of the deal online, only talked to people on the phone for a few minutes. went in to test drive the car and sign the papers, it was stupid that we had to wear the masks and all, but that's how it is in the time of the scamdemic. the only thing the guy tried to upsell was the extended warranty. he asked me if i wanted to buy the extended warranty, i said No, and he dropped the subject. wonderful! i totally recommend them

Overall a somewhat lukewarm experience., there was three things that could improve
1 phone calls are annoying, can't connect to extensions easily without a lot of questions.
2. Delivery was longer than expected, car sat at regional facility for days, no explanation from sales staff. The car took nearly a week to transfer less than 10 miles.
3. Had a minor repair issue with car repair took three trips to carmax to resolve.

CarMax stands on its guarantee warranties. In my car broke down it replaced the engine with a used engine which could be very costly but it's covered under there 90 day policy. People are very nice and they remember who you are. Transactions were pretty easy.

I thought I was getting a great deal, but so far, it's been nothing but trouble with the car. First, the kid who helped me with he purchase of the car could not even get for us as he could not drive stick shift. Then, shortly after having the car, it was back into the repair shop for a replacement of the whole transmission. Then, not too long after that, I had to take it to a repair shop for a cracked turbo that the shop said it had to be cracked when I got the car from Carmax. Not there is another issue that I am not going to be able to finance. I do not think Carmax checks out cars as well as they lead us to believe. Sad, really.

Simple enough to get my car sold to CarMax. The process just takes a lot longer than I anticipated or was communicated to me by staff.
I think CarMax could do more for customers, especially since a lot of families show up at CarMax. Something silly like popcorn would go a long way. As-is, you just sit and wait like it's a doctor's office.
