Jan's is an independently owned bookstore that opened in 1981 and is now located in Downtown Beaverton. It is a great little bookshop with a wide variety of paperback books at great prices, specializing in romance and mystery with a smaller fantasy section. The store sells and trades books for store credit, which can be applied to used books, and can also order new titles. It is not an ordinary bookstore, with a charming and well-organized space that packs in an impressive amount of books. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the store supports the community, even purchasing books for classrooms. Some visitors may be delightfully greeted by puppies. Jan's also offers tarot card readings on Saturdays. It is a wonderful business devoted to spreading a love for reading.
My favorite way to spend a Sunday is to bring back books I bought at Jan’s, and then bring home some more. Thanks for this wonderful local store.

The selection isn't huge, but I've found books to buy every time I've visited.

Had a tarot card reading at Jan's and it was positive. I felt like it was what I needed to hear. Reader is there from 11 to 1 pm on Saturdays. Jan's also supports the community by showing other places of interest. Not an ordinary bookstore, great place to get books.
