Customers beware!!!!! Look elsewhere! I brought my Lexus here about a year ago to get looked at for an oil leak. I was told that it was the valve cover gaskets. I ended up having them get replaced. Everything seemed like it was in good working order. They completed it in a timely manner. It seemed at a reasonable price. I went to pick my vehicle up and drove it home and parked it in the garage. The next morning I had oil under the vehicle. I called the shop and told them what was going on. They told me they would gladly look at it again for me. I brought it back in to them and they told me it looks like the oil pan gasket is bad and the cam seals could be going bad as well. We would recommend replacing those. Keep in mind this is no more than 2 days later. I decided I didn't like the answer they gave me and wanted a second opinion. I took it to two other reputable shops (one with the big Lexus logo on it) to look at. Both shops confirmed it was the valve cover gasket. I told one of the shops it was under warranty and asked if there was anything I could do. They told me they had called Japanese Auto trying to find information on the part/warranty only to be told they didn't have any information on the part. That they had no idea where they bought it from. This alone seems super sketchy to me. I have a receipt for the work done. With the warranty on the receipt. Warranty states 3yr 36,000 miles. How do you honor warranties if you have no way to verify the information? Oh yeah you don't. Stay away from this place at all costs.
I tried to bring it back in to you. I was told it needed an oil pan gasket along with other work. I got the valve cover gasket replaced AGAIN by another shop. The vehicle no longer leaks oil and runs perfectly fine. This place is a scam. I will be doing everything I can to get a refund and reporting this company.

Do not waste you time or money at this mechanic shop . I brought my truck to them for a motor rebuild. I paid half of the money down. I was told I would get my truck back in one week that never happened it was two weeks and my truck runs worse than it did when I took it in . The guy will lie to your face and tell you what you want to hear but never delivers. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB this shop should not be in business .

Ross and his team were amazing! I came in to get my window fixed and they not only got my window to work again, they fixed my door that has been jammed for some time and my front bumper. Ross was very professional, worked swiftly and continued to give me update on the process. He was kind and respectful and made sure I was comfortable while they worked on my vehicle. I would definitely recommend them for any auto services!

I had a problem with my air conditioner on my Lexus. Ross quickly diagnosed the problem. And replaced the compressor within 24 hours, including ordering the part. All this with no appointment! Very reasonable price. Everything works great now. JAS is my go to shop now for both my cars.

CUSTOMER BEWARE! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Look up their complaints on Oregon Department of Justice Consumer Division Website ... you will find SEVERAL complaints for this business
Bad mechanics in PDX area are a dime a dozen and this place will take you for a ride if you are foolish enough to trust them!
Tried this place on a friend's recommendation after several bad experiences w/ other mechanics in the area (see my reviews)... Here we are ~$1250 later!
Ross & Al are deceptive and will recommend unnecessary repairs they know they can defend later on. Need to choose my battles because if they looked me in the eye and lied like that then you can expect them to do the same in court.
They performed unauthorized repairs after I asked them to provide me estimates in writing first. Kept my car for almost a month. Car was still acting up when I went to pick it up.
Expensive lesson learned! NEVER AGAIN!

My 2010 Honda Accord was using a lot of gasoline, and the engine had no power, in a few hours they gave me the diagnosis, which was very accurate, they repaired it in one day and when I checked it, I didn't need all the new parts of the distribution chain and they reduced 300 dollars of the estimated price, I will definitely recommend it to my friends..

About a year ago, I brought my 2006 Subaru WRX into the shop after a blown head gasket. After the better part of two months, $4,000 of repairs, and several months of hindsight, I would not reccomend coming here for a job of that magnitude.Initially upon receiving the car, I was just happy to have it running again but then had the car's throttle body stop working, meaning I was left crawling along the highway shoulder several times, panicking to reset it. To their credit, the guys there did replace that part out of their own pocket afterwards due to the inconvenience it caused, hence two stars.Since then, I have had so many continuing issues that were supposed to be addressed while the car was there, from a sizable oil leak to the valve covers needing to be replaced and a misfire occurring at idle.A repair that was supposed to give me peace of mind for reliability for at least a few years has only increased my doubts about the car's longterm health for my use.

They repaired my car on short notice and in a timely manner. Beaverton Toyota wanted over $2300 for a repair Japanese Auto Service completed for a little over $1000.

Really happy with my experience at Japanese Auto Service. They were quick, accurate, thorough, AND pleasant. The price was fair and they made quick work of fixing my 2008 Honda CRV. I'll be back for any future work and will not hesitate to recommend them
