Took my truck in for a second opinion regarding my engine. The boys skipped the B.S. and told me exactly what was wrong. They were honest and personable.Went from needing a new engine (15,000$) from the first shops recommendation to needing a new head gasket (5000$). Still pricey but very happy that they accurately diagnosed my vehicle and told it to me as it is!Thanks guys

Edit I went to eugne store.I had a break flush and valve gasket replaced. First time repair the gasket still leaked. Second attempt it still leaked and my engine started hissing. Even showed the owner. Third time was told my valve cover was cracked (either they missed this during both repairs or cracked it themselves!) well they used another cars valve cover and now it still leaks, loses oil pressure, and cracked my negative battery terminal. They also mentioned in a diagnose my brake fluid needed changed. Something i had already had done a month prior that apparently didn't even happen. The manager said we have to "drop my car". I paid to not only get the problem not fixed but now my car isn't drivable, the shop won't even fix it, refund or anything. Will be taking it to another shop, proving damages and lack of work, taking it to consumer rights commissions and small claims. Absolutely unbelievable.

I recently purchased a “cheap” used car and needed to know the overall condition of the vehicle. It’s an older car so I knew the chances were good that it could need a lot. I appreciate their professionalism and awareness of the age of the car (doesn’t need everything new and perfect) and budget I am on. They highlighted the most important concerns and issues, helping me to decide if my purchase was a good one. Looking forward to bringing my other cars here in the future.

Jim was super helpful with getting me set up. There was an issue on the Groupon side with my voucher and he took the time to work through it with me so that I could use it. Everyone was kind and professional. Definitely coming back here again if I have any issues with my car.Services: Vehicle Inspection

I had an appt. here 8/4 at 8am for an A/C diagnostic. Checked in and was told I needed to drop off my car and they would call me when they found the problem and discuss the repairs.I ended up calling them at 4:18pm to check in on my car since no one had called and they close at 5p. Jim answered, said he thought it was done but no one had brought him the paper work, "Let me call you back after I double check."Jim called me back at 4:31pm. Said they didn't find a leak but did find two bad valves that they replaced, and filled the refrigerant back up and it's ready to go.I was shocked and confirmed they had already done the repairs and it was finished since no one had called, I then asked what the damage was. Jim then told me the repair costs were $850.00. Shocked again, I asked if he was sure, that seemed high. He confirmed and said the refrigerant is what cost me the most at $12.99 per oz for a total of 34 oz. He said head on in it will be ready by the time you get here.I hang up frantic trying to figure out how we were going to cover the expense.I had remember seeing a finance option in there lobby area. I applied, got approved and called Jim back at 4:40pm to get it processed. He said he didn't even remember how to do this, his billing people leave at 4pm and he's trying to get out of there at 5pm. I told him I understood, but he needed to understand no one called and went over this repair with me, or even asked if it was OK to proceed, and I needed to figure out how to pay for this now, and now you're telling me you can't figure this part out. Jim got frustrated with me asking me what my problem was, I was acting as if they did something wrong, I could just leave my car there until Monday when the billing / finance people would be back in, or he could have the refridgerant removed. Then said he couldn't do that because everyone went home. I let him know that was not an option to leave my car there, and you did do something wrong, you made repairs without consent. So remove the refrigerant. Jim told some guy to pull my car back in and remove the refrigerant, and then told me it would take about 30min.My husband and I left and were on out as it would take about that long to get there.Jim called me back at 5:18pm asking how far I was. I told him Brookwood and TV HWY. He got frustrated with me again and said, seriously like another 20 minutes or so? I said about 10 minutes.I had my husband go in to deal with Jim as he was not being very nice to me. He made sure to let my husband know, he just lost $400.00 labor now.My husband apologized but also said that was not our fault.Jim told my husband, that's what they do there, they find the problem and then they fix it. Some people are fine with that while others make them undo their unconsented work. It's to bad aside from the dealership, this place is the only shop I could find that also uses the new R1234YF.

First-time customer -- I came in for a Groupon oil change + serpentine belt replacement that was determined to be needed during the visit. Great customer service. Friendly and personable. Some customers casually addressed Jim on a first-name basis, which impressed me. I'm from the Seattle area, but this initial positive encounter with Jim and his crew compels me to try scheduling future car appts at his shop to coincide with visits to relatives in the PDX area, whenever possible.

Took my car here for an oil change, they said I needed my brakes done too, and my dad had been here before so we said sure. A day after getting my car back I had my traction and ABS lights coming on- took it in they ran a diagnostic and supposedly a sensor in my ABS system just went out, and of course supposedly unrelated to any work they did. The guy told me ‘if you have to drive it youre probably fine but this should get fixed soon’ then quoted me $2400 to fix the part, which he adamantly said getting a new part is what I need, i shouldnt take a chance on a used part. I left for work and came back about 2 hours later. The guy tells me he ordered a used part (? After telling me I shouldnt do that) and that I realllllllly shouldnt drive the car and that it makes him nervous (after telling me it was probably fine and just needed to get it fixed soon). Took my car to Les Schwab they said they couldnt fix it but that Mac’s more than likely messed this up in my car. Took it to Honda where they tell me that Mac’s also installed my brake pads on the wrong side of the clips. Bring it back to Mac’s, they tell me the brake pads are installed correctly and they have no idea what the DEALERSHIP is talking about. And as I leave the lot, my check engine light goes on. If I could put 0 stars I would. Dont go here, save yourself a massive headache.

I am incredibly pleased with the work these guys did on my car. I turned on my AC for the first time since last summer and found that it wasn't working anymore. After doing some troubleshooting, I found that the problem was beyond my repair abilities and decided to take my car in for a diagnosis. They found a big leak on one of my AC lines, and what really impressed me was that they let me go around back to look at the issue myself. The pricing for the repair and recharge was a little high for my budget (~$450 in total, including the initial diagnosis), but I went forward with it. Their transparency and evident skill made me confident that they would get the job done right and with integrity. As a bonus, they quickly found the cause of a persistent oil leak that I have since repaired myself. My car has been blowing cold air like new for almost a week now. If I am in need of repairs in the future, this will be the first shop I call.Services: General repairs & maintenance

Jim at Macs was amazing! My family has been going here for years. I had never needed anything done until a very unfortunate incident happened with daughters car. Jim was willing to work with the other company who cause the damage to get payment. He was extremely transparent in his explanation of all repairs. Not to mention all the little extras he did to my daughters car. For example fixing the single light and tightening the license plate for her. Stuff like this shows he cares. Now I understand why my entire family trusts Macs!!!
