I was beyond happy with my recent visit to the Red Wing store. Danner is kinda the darling of the Portland boot world. And I would generally agree, until the past decade or so. I had a bad experience with the durability of two of their American made boots and their prices just continue climb. This with them becoming more and more fashion focused led me to consider another option.
Then I saw that Red Wing had re-released their heritage logger boot (love the look of the boot) and it was still priced almost 100 dollars below my usual Danners. I decided to go to a store to get fitted because it was a new brand to me and still a very pricey boot.
I figured that this was a chain store owned by Red Wing but it's actually a family owned store with two brothers working the day I stopped in. I like the family aspect. I was scanned with their Volumental machine and got my precise measurements. They had the boot and size I needed on site and got to it immediately. No screwing around with returns and weird sizing online. The whole thing was made doable and even enjoyable by the salesperson on staff, he killed it.
Nice work Red Wing Beaverton. I wasn't expecting such a pleasant and efficient experience.
Maybe this Danner guy is now a Red Wing guy, but that's up to my new boots to decide for me.

Unbelievably helpful and friendly!
My husband and I went to look for some insoles for his extreme arch and the welcome and service we received was second to none.
The guys in the store knew their stuff and took the time to help us.
Along with the high quality of their shoes and products - we definitely recommend Beaverton Red Wing!

Family owned location whose members worked in industries that required work boots, so they’re very knowledgeable. Friendly, welcoming, etc all the good stuff. They also have more in stock than some other locations so call or try here first.

8-9-2025 my first visit to this specific store, they have an extensive inventory and I was able to try on many pairs of boots to get what works best for me.
I've worn Red Wings for years and always buy from a store vs. Online to keep the ability to try on and get helpful insights from the staff, the new owners that took over this location make it a family business VS corporate store and that is huge.
They are kind, and very helpful getting just what works for you.
I will go back.
P.S. buy some socks!
