One of the very few vets who I trust with my box turtle! It can, however, be difficult to schedule over the phone as a deposit is required and I never seem to get through to someone. Which results in many voicemails and calls back and forth just to schedule (unless you’re comfortable leaving your card info in a voicemail).

Dr Surrency was great. Kate was VERY helpful. My situation was unique and Scales and Tails went above and beyond to help accommodate. I highly recommend! Thanks

Best place to go for specialized care of reptiles and small pets such as guinea pigs, rabbits, rats, birds, sugar gliders, etc.

My bearded dragon was at the end of his days with cancer and Scales & Tails was so kind, helpful, and gave me hope. Unfortunately he passed away but I feel like their advice helped him make his final couple months comfortable. I really felt like the staff cared and the vet is very knowledgeable. If I get another reptile, they will for sure be my main vet.

Leaving reviews generally doesn’t even occur to me, but as I’m reading a new chicken book, I really feel like I should say something. I would NOT bring a chicken here.I tried to treat my chicken’s prolapsed vent at home without success before finding a vet that treats chickens. It was during Covid, so I dropped her off and the vet called a while later to say they could perform surgery for $800. I told her I just couldn’t afford that. The vet actually talked me into it. I was more easily swayed, as my my elderly dog and cat with kidney failure had both died two months prior.I picked my girl up later that day and they had to train me how to care for her (it was quite a process). They told me they put a hormone ring in her to prevent her from egg production for a few months. Makes sense of course. Then told me that the surgery doesn’t always prevent the prolapse from happening again, so people bring their chickens in every three months to have the ring replaced for the rest of their lives! This was definitely not part of the vet’s sales pitch. My chicken died after 4 days.

I'll try my best to summarize....Speki ❤️, my bearded dragon, was very ill, Scales and tails did everything they could to save her, but it turned out she was already far too sick... They understood and cared about how my heart felt when I made the decision to euthanize Speki. The kind hearted people at scales and tails took such good care of my beautiful princess....and of me! The doc took the time to explain everything but Mostly, she helped me stop blaming myself for all of it, with logic and compassion.. ❤️

Absolutely wonderful. A little awkward currently because of the rabbit virus precautions. Terrific veterinary care, great staff!

I have been taking my pet rats here for the last two years and they have always provided the best treatment. My girls are older and are frequently visiting Dr. Surrency nowadays and they always take their time during the intake to ensure they are checking all the environmental factors that could be affecting their health.Yes, it is difficult to get a live person on the phone because their appointments are limited, but I always leave a detailed message and I always get a call back to schedule an appointment. They only have drop-off appointments rights now, so you do have to be comfortable with leaving your pets in their care. I have not had any concerns with this and my girls are always happy after visiting Scales & Tails.Dr. Surrency always calls to discuss her findings, recommend treatment, and answer questions. Her recommendations are never pushy and always thoroughly explained. If you have pet rats, I 100% recommend Scales & Tails.

I trusted Scales & Tails to help my sweet guinea pig, but instead they just drained my bank account. I begged them to help my poor baby, but all they did was give me an appointment two weeks out. In this time my guinea pig’s health deteriorated and I called multiple times pleading for a sooner appointment (I also tried the small amount of other exotic clinics available and the dreaded Dove Lewis ER). I would’ve paid 100x the price to save her. After the appointment, I was told that I should’ve gotten her help sooner… my baby passed that night. The cherry on top was that when I asked what to do with the $400+ unused medicine they gave me earlier in the day, Scales & Tails told me I could donate it back to them. What a generous organization. It’s been months and I am still recovering from the loss of my guinea pig, but at least Scales & Tails got their money.

I'm a TikTok bearded dragon creator (@beepboopbeardies) and went to scales and tails with my 3 bearded dragons for over ~15 visits over the course of a year. We LOVED scales and tails! Dr. Surrency was VERY thorough and patient in answering all of our questions. She performs all services in house, including xrays, surgery, etc. Our boy Daxter had tail rot and wasn't doing great, she performed his surgery for a very reasonable cost (they probably could charge a lot more if they wanted to) and saved his life! Daxter is recovering very well. There were so many little things that Dr. Surrency helped us dial in to perfect our care. We are not sponsored by Scales and Tails, we have never received any discounts from them or anything. We were just so impressed by their work. Dr. Surrency and the veterinary technicians all genuinely cared so much for our bearded dragons. We are so lucky to have found them! We shared our experiences via video on TikTok under #scalesandtailsexoticpetclinic. This place is a really great find, can't recommend enough!

They just stole our animal from us, that we've been trying to get looked at for the past 4 to 5 months. Had to wait until June 28th. I've called every police station in your area. And have been told to go get my animal tomorrow. We paid for an exam. Not to have my pet stolen. No option on payment for medical. And WE are the ones who rescued this poor thing.

Kind and compassionate, knowledgeable staff. We were patients for about the last two years, our bearded dragon got cancer and they helped us try to save her. Through no fault of theirs it got to a point where we felt it was cruel to keep her in suffering, after we made the tough decision to euthanize our nine year old beardie they sent a lovely condolences card. We plan to take our next reptile to them when and if we get one.
