I really try to not be overly critical. I went in today to have a key cut. There was nobody there to help me so I stood by the key machine watching customer after customer after customer go through checkout line which is only about 10 ft from the key machine and couldn't even get an acknowledgment from the loan checker. I patiently waited until the line abated and finally the person at the check stand acknowledged me. He walked over to me and I handed if my key assuming he was ready to cut it. But instead he told me he had to get somebody else to do it. The same somebody that he could have called on his walkie-talkie 15 minutes earlier, but evidently didn't have the common sense to do. Several more minutes went by and the new associate came up front. He fiddled with it for a few minutes before walking off and telling me that chipped keys had to handle by a manager who would be there shortly. The manager was another fellow arrived and started helping a woman who's online order was messed up. The crazy thing is she was one of the customers that arrived while I was standing by the key machine nearly 15 minutes earlier. After several more minutes of no help, I located my key (on the initial checkers counter) and left.
The worst part of the whole thing I didn't want to chipped key, I just wanted a door key in case I locked my keys inside the truck. Nobody bothered to ask.
If you have an opportunity to use Bi-Mart or one of the other good stores in the community (that cares about you and values customer service) please take the opportunity. Terribly lacking customer service is something none of us should have to put up with.
I miss the days of Masterson St Clair hardware downtown Bend.

Every time I go into Ace Hardware, the guys and the ladies there are so helpful. They do their best to solve your problem the best selection of nuts and bolts and screws the best customer service they may charge a little bit more for certain things, but they definitely make up for it in the customer service department

Not very knowledgeable staff answering the phones not very knowledgeable. Staff in the store store not adequately supplied with hardware or paint and they’re ace hardware and paint store which is difficult. No same-day delivery and I was put on hold three times just to get an answer. I don’t know so I’m sorry, Ace but no good today.

I’ve bought a lot of yard and garden tools here. I returned a shovel that just wasn’t quite up to par for what I needed. It was simple and the guy was very nice.
