“After a lovely walk along the river, we stumbled into the area and discovered Red Chair Gallery. The artist there (wish I could remember her name) was so pleasant about inviting questions and sharing what she knew of the others' art. All kinds of interesting things in there. I did like her work, but something about this bunny by another artist called to me. The sweet lady must have spent half an hour playing with different combinations of boxes and bubble wrap to make sure it'd be safe for my walk back and subsequent trip in the suitcase home to San Diego. "River Rabbit" now oversees our living room. An interesting shop that we'll peruse again the next time we have reason to be in Bend.”

It is the perfect place for a thoughtful personal gift or to treat yourself. Additionally, they offer classes and hold events, all of which are great. This place is awesome!”

“I’m a working artist and I love this place. Great spot to pick up genuinely quality paintbrushes, and a favorite of mine for sketchbooks, too. It’s a relatively small shop with a relatively small selection but I personally think that’s a plus, especially when what is available is high quality. Always helpful and friendly, and they offer classes and display local art. I’m a huge fan.
It is SO important to support local businesses. With Blick’s recent acquisition of MacPherson’s Art Supply’s inventory, many independent art supply shops are having an even tougher time (and I don’t imagine it was easy to begin with). Small, local art spaces like Layor need to be supported and treasured.”
