A rock rolled off the cliff went under my car and took out the fuel tank. Don went above and beyond! After loaning us a vehicle so we could continue on vacation. Don worked with the insurance company to make sure my car had a new tank, and ready to go by the time my vacation came to a close.
Thank you!

Don generously helped me repair a leak on my motorcycle tire. He phoned around to various town folk looking for someone who could patch my tire. Spent an hour with me in the blazing sun and didn’t ask for a penny. Wonderful, helpful man.

From quote to finish, this was by far the best experience I’ve ever had regarding a car body repair. Owner even came in on his weekend day off to exchange truck for loner because it was more convenient for me. He did an impeccable repair and the truck was squeaky clean when I picked it up. Highly recommend this body shop. Other reviews say the owner is off putting. We found him to be delightful and FUNNY! A true gem of a shop.

Called to get a quote the guy told me all the quotes are the same around here so if I'm not the first person you called it's whatever they said before horrible customer service would never do business with this place ?

We had our auto transmission for the work van repaired by Don or his mechanic helper. It never really shifted like an automatic should, it would j*** and shift unusual. (the sound was strange also). Anyway they Re- built another tranny for us. they had us come in for the exchange. This was because its a work van and we cannot work without the van. So to keep us on the job longer.. (it has job equipment built in. After 2.5 months the tranny was slipping, then it failed all together in Sunriver. We had it towed to the Chevrolet Dealership because in my experience, properly repaired transmissions should last for years!!! And NOT 3 months! At that point we needed to go to someone more reputable and that knows how to repair a tranny correctly the first time. we did call auto rehab, sent them a letter to rebuild another transmission but they refused to honor their 1 year written warranty! Terrible service, bad attitude and strong language was our experience!

I can honestly say I have never had a better car-care experience or a better customer service experience than I did at Auto Rehab. I went to HS in Bend and was stopping through at the end of a 2-week road trip when my car (2001 Toyota Corolla) started making a horrendous noise on my way out of town. We called a tow truck (Pro Tow, also amazing) who suggested we go to Auto Rehab instead of the Toyota dealer in town. I was incredibly thankful for that because I dealt with the Toyota dealer in HS and they are overpriced and kind of terrible but didn't know where else to go.
All of this happened on a Friday afternoon and the garage and lot at Auto Rehab were full, but Don (the owner, I believe) got my car in immediately and determined that something had sheered off and was wandering around in the engine. He showed me and my BF the amount of metal shavings in the engine and explained that it would require an entirely different engine to be saved. He then called around and got quotes for a used engine and presented me with my options. The amount an engine plus the labor needed to put it in exceeded the blue book value of the car so I made the tough decision to call it a loss. Don suggested selling it to a salvage yard for parts since up to now the car had behaved perfectly and never had any problems. I was kind of a mess because over the course of 2 hours I had gone from perfectly functioning car to scrap metal and was now stranded in Bend. Don called around to the salvage yards he works with to get bids for me and then gave me the information to work out the details with them. I didn't have the title to the car with me which meant there was no way I could sell the car that day, meaning it would need to be stored for the weekend at least. I was ready to pay a storage fee to keep it at the shop, but Don said he wouldn't charge me since he wasn't looking to get rich off of my misfortune.
So Don spent a total of about 3 hours working on my car and calling around for bids for me, stayed an hour late on a Friday evening for us while we waited for a rental car, and is storing my car for at least 3 days. Total cost: $140. Unbelivable. He knew up front that I was a one-shot, out of town customer and still went the extra mile. I kind of wish I still lived in Bend just so I could use him as my mechanic for the rest of time.
I had my BF who knows a fair bit about cars with me but I know if I had been by myself (a 20-something woman who knows where to put the gas and not much else) I would have gotten the exact same service, which is something I have discovered is exceedingly rare these days. I've lived in Seattle for 7 years and have yet to find a mechanic I actually trust to not take advantage of me.
I am not the type of person to write reviews, in fact I've never done it before and I created a Google+ account just to review this business. If you are a local or are just passing through please give these people your business! You will not be disappointed.
