My experience with the Council on Aging in Bend has been incredible and completely exceeded my expectations. I needed help with my Dad post stroke and my Mom who was the caretaker and was was really struggling and needed help but didn't know what to do. I was easily able to set up an appointment to have someone come to my parents house free of charge and sit us down to talk about all our options. Wes came out to their house on time and ready to roll. I'm so grateful for how he handled them and helped us make a plan. It felt like he was an advocate for me and how I could help them better when they were being stubborn and prideful. He was direct, tactful, very knowledgeable, could easily handle how older generations act and behave at this stage of their lives. Wes was a game changer. I now have very specific steps of what to do to help my parents and I went from feeling completely overwhelmed to empowered and optimistic that I know what to do to support them better.

As a volunteer with our homeless community & being a senior myself I’ve found help & direction from the staff at the Redmond OR office of Council on Aging. Also the help of the brilliant volunteers of SHEBA provide an invaluable service to 1000’s of seniors & people experiencing disabilities in Oregon. Thank you all!

I do not know where they get their funds. What a waste of money and time.I started calling them in 2018 after cancer surgery. I was given phone numbers to call that were all dead ends. I am afraid that my experience here has been a waste of time. the man with the referrals is the worst. Things did not improve. I still have never received a useful idea that isn't already publicly listed. I would like to see the funds given to them be used in a better way
They appear to have a large staff and 211 will always give them as a referral. I do not think this organization is that useful. For many of us this would be the correct referral.
If only they would make a difference for old people.
what a waste of money and nice building. This review is not a surprise...my expectations are higher. If you have lots of free time to leave them messages and have no real need go for it. You're on your own here
We are fooling ourselves and wasting money here.
