This was a great decision to have my son start here, he learned so many new skills. This made him more confident in things and he really enjoyed the staff and all the new friends he made.

Great work in concept, kind office staff, but beware if considering working here. Most information isn't shared on their website. You're considered a federal volunteer and pay is a contracted living stipend that does not change once signed. Unless you're a full-time staff member or work in landfills, expect an average of $6-$7 per hour, or between $11-$15 per hour including the scholarship award which cannot be transferred to anyone unless you're over 55.If you don't plan on using the scholarship, especially not worth it. Cool projects, some of the worst pay you can get in Oregon. Great references and if you plan on staying in Oregon, supposedly is a surefire way to get a job elsewhere assuming the employer knows what Heart of Oregon is.

A great way for young adults to get their first job, learn skills and earn money as well as a scholarship for future trainings or college.

Hands down one of the best places to have worked. Fellow crew members and the crew leaders were some of the best team a girl could ask for.
